For Christmas I also got the Donna Summer Gold album and it has all of Donna's hits from the 70's and 80's 90's and 2003 and I seem to think that it's the Casablanca 1993 album The Donna Summer Anthology repackaged under a different name. Is this that same album with a different name or is the 1993 version different?
I own a copy of the Anthology 2-CD set. The track listing on Gold is similar to, but not exactly the same as, Anthology. For instance, "Cold Love" (A top 40 hit on Billboard's Hot 100 chart) is on Anthology but missing from Gold. According to Steve Hoffman's Web site message boards, Anthology (which seems to have had its manufacture discontinued around 2003) has somewhat better sound quality than the Donna Summer hits collections released both before and after Anthology.

So Donna Summer Gold is similar to the 1993 The Donna Summer Anthology? I didn't even know that and that is great. I also have the 1995 Endless Summer album but I like Donna Summer Gold a lot better because it has the longer versions of Love To Love You Baby and MacArthur Park and two songs from Donna Summer's 1984 album Cats Without Claws that I had been looking for but I could never find Cats Without Claws anywhere on CD but it's a wonderful album

So does this mean that this is the only Donna Summer album in print other than the previous album The Journey? I didn't even know that and it surprised me. I have been a Donna Summer fan since my uncle introduced me to her music and I like this album better than the 1995 collection Endless Summer

I have this exact same collection and it's wonderful. It highlights a lot of hits and fan favorites, although omitting "Oh Billy Please", which was originally meant to be a single.
If you want a deeper delve into a hits collection, Donna Summer's Ultimate Collection covers her first album Lady of the Night (not released in the US) all the way to her last singles (before and after her death).

I don't know why some of the other singles from Donna Summer's 1987 album All Systems Go were not included in the collection and the only two songs featured from that album were Dinner With Gershwin and the title track are featured in Donna Summer Gold. I know for a fact that two other songs from All Systems Go were released as singles one was a power ballad named Jeremy and a duet with Starship's Mickey Thomas called Only The Fool Survives. Also songs from Donna's 1981 double album I'm A Rainbow are missing on Donna Summer Gold and they should release a Volume 2 of Donna Summer Gold that features unreleased and rare singles from Donna Summer's career
Thank you so much for replying 1990 UM Fan

I think Donna Summer Gold is better than 1995's greatest hits collection Endless Summer because this album has more of Donna Summer's more known 80's hits but Friends Unknown from 1991's Mistaken Identity should've been included because that song was a hit ballad for Donna. But like I mentioned before the songs Only The Fool Survives and Jeremy from All Systems Go should've been included too. But at least Sunset People from 1979's Bad Girls is included in this collection
