I virtually have no clue why Big Brother continues to exist on CBS but for some unknown reason the show gets huge ratings for CBS every season. My mom and I saw parts of the first season of Big Brother and even saw the finale as well and we thought Big Brother was very unappealing and the idea of placing contestants in a house for a money prize seemed odd to me and my mom. And Big Brother should've gotten cancelled after the second season but for some reason CBS continued to air it because to give it more viewers than Survivor and when The Amazing Race debuted Big Brother was still getting ratings and how Big Brother survives is a mystery. And now there are so many spin-offs of Big Brother it proves that next to Survivor and The Amazing Race Big Brother is the third popular show on CBS. I think the main reason it took off like a rocket was because Julie Chen hosts it and I think why Julie took the hosting job of Big Brother was because of her husband and boost her popularity for CBS and now she's everywhere for CBS. But I think this show will continue to be a favorite for years to come
