…crossover from 2022):
(The Ricardos and Mertzes are outside. They are really decorating the Ricardos and Mertzes houses.)
Ricky: “Lucy, are you sure you know what you are doin’?”
Lucy: “Yes, I’m sure Ricky.”
Fred: “I’m sure I am too Rick. I don’t want to miss out that prize that we are going to share. $1,000 for each of us.”
Ricky: “Yeah, the town of Westport, CT having a contest to see who has the best decorated house.”
Fred: “I can smell the money now.”
Ethel: “You can smell either money or food.”
(Ricky laughs.)
Ethel: “Fred, are you sure that you know what you are doing?”
Fred (getting upset): “Yes, I’m sure.”
Lucy: “I know what I’m doing too. This will be great. As long as we use the million lights that I bought.”
Ricky: “Yeah, using my money because once again, you were overdrawn at the bank.”
Lucy: “Oh.”
(At night on XMas Eve, they have the lights set up.)
Lucy: “Ok please. Drum roll.”
(They all imitate a drum roll.)
Lucy (singing loudly and off-key): “JOY TO THE WORLD/…”
(She plugs them in and nothing happens.)
Ethel: “Fred, are you sure that you checked every light?”
Fred: (getting upset): “Yes, I’m sure.”
Ricky: “Lucy, we told you and Fred to set this up days in advance and do an immaculate job. A five-year-old could’ve done a better job.”
Lucy: “They are coming now. What are we going to do.”
(To be continued.)
