View Full Version : Parking
InspectorExstead 09-15-2002, 09:12 PM For those of you who go to high school or college, are students allowed to have cars on campus? And, are there specific rules or things they have to do in order to park it in the parking lot. (Like be eligible or something)
At my school, cars are allowed. As long as they understand that whatever happens to it is not the school's fault. So, all the juniors and seniors have a car. They all have to get there at 7 to get a spot in the parking and then half of them don't, so they have to park all the way from the school to a block away. I'm never gonna take a car to school. I'll just end up parking it like a couple of blocks away, so might as well get some extra sleep, ya know?
Rockapella722 09-15-2002, 09:28 PM I live across the street from the H.S... heehee. I can leave 3 minutes before the bell rings if I want. But I don't...
Crimson and Clover 09-15-2002, 09:36 PM parking is allowed but we have to pay i think its like five dollars every year.

ah how i would hate waking up on weekends and still look at school
*Melissa* 09-15-2002, 09:58 PM We're allowed to park on campus at my college. We just have to have a parking permit on the back of our car. Of course, they've been cutting out parking spaces each year, so who knows how long parking will be allowed on campus? Rumor has it that they want to make it a walk-only campus. That's bad news for me; I'm a commuter and I live 40 minutes away from campus.
Georgia's on my Mind 09-15-2002, 10:06 PM parking is free to all seniors....but they can only park in certain area's...juniors w/ a liscene will be entered into a lottery and 20 juniors will be able to use the parking area also

vienna waits 09-15-2002, 10:30 PM You have to pay 25 dollars to get a parking pass at my school to put in your car with a number on it. You MUST have this sticker w/ the number on it to park in the parking lots. If you don't the security people will tow it away. Sophs, Juniors, and Seniors can all drive... and we have two HUGE parking lots. The one i'll be parking is like half a mile from school it's so far away lol. That's gonna be great fun in Winter.....
Charlie Max 09-16-2002, 03:15 AM Parking has always been a problem at our university. There are too many students and not enough parking spaces. To this day, they are building more parking lots but the problem continues. Of course, it doesn't help that they take a long time to finish the parking lots that they've started already. On top of all of this, they charge 20 dollars per semester and they don't garantee that you'll have a parking space. By 8 AM, all the spaces have been filled and by 9:30 AM, you can see the heavy traffic circling around waiting for someone to drive out. Some people have gotten into fights over a parking space. Now, that's sad. :D
dawsongirl 09-16-2002, 01:56 PM Here at my school, commuter students (like myself) can pay for a pass to park in a commuter lot on campus. They can, for free, park at an off-campus location and get bussed in. I hate busses, so I pay.
Swimfan85 09-16-2002, 04:51 PM there are 2 lots, one upper lot for seniors who get it...then a lower lot for the other seniors....and some juniors, but since most juniors can drive they are looking for more parking since our school is over-crowded...
~LadyJess~ 09-16-2002, 05:18 PM People are allowed to park at my school but you need a parking permit. They give them to seniors first and then juniors need to have a note explaining why they need to drive to school. I'm a junior and I wrote a note saying that I live 6 miles away from the school and play golf in the spring so they gave me one.
Mr. Shy Guy 09-16-2002, 05:44 PM There are too lots at my school. There's the upper lots for seniors and the lower lots for juniors and sophomores. And you don't have to pay.
ILuvJoandBlair 09-16-2002, 08:26 PM Parking is free at my school, so you can pak in the parking lot or on the street.
Czas na Zywiec 09-16-2002, 08:38 PM Yea, we have the senior lot right next to the doors that lead into teh senior hall, but the juniors and sophomores have to park like a block away from the staff parking lot. Waay behind the football field. But we have no snow here, so it's not a problem in winter. And you have to pay $5 for a sticker and its good until you graduate.
