Their comedy department is losing half of the only four sitcoms from last year's schedule. I never did like Bob Hearts Abishola, but Young Sheldon was really good a lot of the time. Ghosts definitely won't move to Mondays, but The Neighborhood could move to Thursdays. It will probably be easier to launch new comedies with both veterans anchoring one night. The Neighborhood would be great counterprogramming to Law and Order: SVU and Grey's Anatomy. The other way would be The Neighborhood at 8:00 and Ghosts at its original time of 9:00, but Ghosts likely shares more audience there. So Help Me Todd could move an hour later to close out the night at 10:00. I don't see any way Elsbeth is going to be a success, that has big flop written all over it. Rolled over Poppa's House would be one of the new comedies, and they would need a strong 2nd comedy pilot. Zits is a popular comic strip, CBS never should have passed on the sitcom based on it awhile back. They could always bring Zits back into development, find a good cast for a live action version. To fill the void left by The Neighborhood on Mondays, the Matlock refake could lead off the night there (and get killed by The Voice/football :devil: , Andy Griffith's role never should have been attempted by anyone else :mad: ). Once their comedy department becomes stronger with more options, they could eventually return to Monday comedies as well as the 2 hour Thursday block. Another thing they should do is pay big money to Chuck Lorre so his TBBT spin-off isn't relegated to lousy streaming. Young Sheldon can also be spun off into two shows that would have built-in appeal: The Coopers and Sheldon in College.

I actually really liked the Zits comics growing up, but I have my doubts on how much commercial appeal it'd have, especially as a live action show. I wouldn't mind it, I just don't think it'll be a huge hit for CBS.

Seeing it animated would be better. I prefer it that way and it'll work.

It(CBS) and NBC should do it or else.

To IceCream: Would you also be in agreement that CBS should just air a sitcom the next time they telecast a Super Bowl? Strikemageddon made CBS blow its chance this season by airing Tracker (yet another drama, and it's from an outside studio, 20th Television; no word on if CBS Studios will step in as co-producer of that one before its debut).

Also, I don't think CBS needs to pick up any more Big Bang Theory/Young Sheldon spinoffs. Matter of fact, CBS doesn't need to pick-up ANY more new series from outside studios. Just please, stick to the shows that are produced by its in-house studio.

But the last two seasons they have not been trying with new sitcoms, none at all last season which was before the strikes. And the only one from this year was Poppa's House which is needed more for next season with Young Sheldon and Bob Hearts Abishola ending. Tracker does sound interesting though, a much better post Super Bowl choice than reality flops like The World's Best. I am considering adding Tracker to my schedule, while I have no desire to see the Matlock refake or Elsbeth. I am not a fan of The Equalizer but it has been a success after a post Super Bowl premiere. CBS shouldn't limit themselves to just content from their own studio. That would needlessly hinder creativity in scripted shows. Considering some of their most successful shows in recent history like The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon, and Ghosts are from outside studios, it would also hinder potential strong ratings. I would hate for something cheaply made to be the priority.

I would guess that most people here would like to see more sitcoms if possible. So YES, they should restore it.
