Wondering if this new complete series DVD will correct the error from Shout Factory's 5th season DVD that has an edited version of the "Super Reporter" episode on it.

I wonder the same thing. And the problems in some Shout! episodes where the lip sync is noticeably off--I also wonder about that.

I'm also curious about this new complete series DVD set released by FilmRise. I do not own the shout factory sets so I was trying to figure out if i should get this new release or the Shout Factory ones. This new release only has 17 discs and Shout Factory sets add up to 21 discs. I'm wondering how the video quality is and if any of the episodes look compressed since they put more episodes on one disc. Like others mentioned I'm curious if Super Reporter is unedited in this set. FilmRise is currently streaming it unedited online. If they used the same masters that they used for streaming then there is a chance it could be unedited in this set.

If you or anyone finds out the answers, please post them here. One thing I think is that the Amazon price is too high--it's almost $10 less on Movies Unlimited. That site says it's manufacture on demand.

I did jump and buy the Leave it to Beaver Blu-Ray set, and it has the same first season errors that the Shout! set from 2010 had. I suspect it uses the same masters as the Shout! set, for that reason. So logic tells me this TG set will be exactly the same as the Shout! set, sans bonus extras. The main extras on Shout! were the Marlo Thomas commentaries--and her insights were--well, dull. The producer's (I think it was Bill Persky) comments were more interesting.

I did some searching and there appears to be no useful reviews anywhere.

Again, somebody who gets the set, please let us know if it's worthwhile.

Looks like this new set has the uncut episode of Super Reporter. Someone posted on another forum that it includes the uncut episode. They also said the video quality looks good.

"I can confirm the new dvd set definitely restores the tag scene in the episode "Super Reporter". It's actually a pretty nice set. No fancy menus like the Shout Factory dvd sets. But the discs load right to a simple menu screen with a photo and listing of each episode. I didn't notice any downgrade in video quality since there are more episodes per disc. It could be my imagination but the episode "Super Reporter" may look a tad better. The end of the episode seems lighter and softer on the previous dvd set. But, like I said, could just be my imagination. Worth picking up if you are a big fan of the show and need a back-up set."

That's all I needed to know. I'm using the Amazon link!

Looking at the running times on the Shout Factory set, it looks like there are a number of episodes which are suspiciously short. Anything under 25:10 or more for that era tells me its edited.

The Shout! sets also had some episodes where the audio and video were out of sync; at least, on my sets.

This new set won't have Marlo Thomas' commentaries, but no loss there.

When I saw the release on Amazon, I saw that the studio that released it is Allied Vaughn, not FilmRise.
