My rankings are based how many of my favorite episodes are in each season:

Season 6 (Terris first season)
Season 4 (Chrissys last season/Furleys first season)
Season 3 (Ropers last season)
Season 5 (Cindy's first season)
Season 7 (Jack finally owns his own restaurant)
Season 2
Season 8 (Really couldn't get into the rushed relationship of Phillip/Janet and Jack/Vicki even though in Jacks case was for the spinoff)
Season 1 (only a 6 episode season and only favorite episodes of mine from the first season is the pilot and the dog episode)

I sure do!
For me, Season 4 is the best season imo, with Season 6 as the 2nd favorite.

Interesting list. Seasons 2 and 3 are so similar but you have them ranked so far apart. Its a coin flip which is better IMHO. But both are top of the list in my book. Seasons 2 and 3 are some of the best sitcom work in TV history IMHO.

OMG check it out. There are 3 versions of it on youtube with different Janets and Chrissys.
Its an excellent pilot. It sets up the show perfectly. It even has exact consistency where Jack tells the girls (after making them a gourmet breakfast) that he will be a chef in 1980. Their response was "it takes 4 years to become a chef?"
The apartment has a hanging light that disappears later on. Mrs Roper finds Jack wearing one of the girl's nightgowns because his clothes are drying in the oven from falling asleep in the tub.
Its one of the best pilots of any show. It made the show take off like a rocket.

I enjoyed Valerie Curtin as "Jenny" the first Janet in the pilot. I think she was really good and I'm surprised they replaced her. I would have kept her and John Ritter and hired Suzanne Somers.

Valerie was a great actress and she was also a writer. She wrote for the Mary Tyler Moore show and ended up getting an Academy Award nomination for writing "And Justice for All" starring Al Pacino. She was married to movie director Barry Levinson at the time.
