The hiatus is expected since Top Gear has been off the air since host Andrew Flintoff experienced a "life-alteringly significant" injury following a crash last year, resulting in a payout worth $11.2 million. "Given the exceptional circumstances, the BBC has decided to rest the UK show for the foreseeable future... We know resting the show will be disappointing news for fans, but it is the right thing to do," BBC said in a statement this morning.
