Pavan 10-28-2002, 05:45 PM Yes, the John Ritter A&E Biography airs this Wednesday, October 30 at 8 p.m. on A&E, but A&E sent me a screener to review!! I watched it this morning as soon as I got it and it was GREAT! Great photos of him from the early years and now, and even some video clips of him with his father when he was a boy. His brother Tom, who has Cerebal Palsy, was interviewed. So many rare things they mentioned, like the 1980's John Ritter ABC special (John Ritter: Being of Soul, Mind and Body) that he did, they even showed a clip from that (with Suzanne!), the Cerebal Palsy telethon, etc. Even photos of John's family, all 4 kids (first time I saw Carly other than when she was a kid), ex-wife Nancy Morgan and of course wife Amy Yasbeck. I was and still am amazed. They interviewed the obvious people, like Joyce DeWitt, Suzanne Somers, Don Knotts, author of the Three's Cimpany book Chris Mann, close friend & The Dinner Party co-star Henry Winkler, friend & Hearts Afire/Sling Blade co-star Billy Bob Thornton, Skin Deep director Blake Edwards, friend & J for J co-star Jenny Sullivan, and some of his other close friends.
The only negative I thought was the person from People Magazine, I don't know why they interviewed him, I didn't like him. Also, I thought they should have interviewed a few more people and eliminate that People Magazine guy, they could have interviewed, Richard Kline, director Peter Bogdanovich, Markie Post, John's kids (especially Jason), ex-wife Nancy (maybe that isn't possible?), wife Amy Yasbeck, and John's mom. Other than that, this Bio is right on target and it has some rare footages (especially John the early years). They should have made it two hours, maybe another bio will soon (E!?).
I hope you guys watch it this Wednesday and enjoy it as much as I did, and I'd love to hear what think of it.
Thanks and remember Wednesday at 8p e/p on A&E.
Sean Snow 10-28-2002, 06:45 PM I am looking forward to it, especially after reading your review PB!

Nice, detailed review! I can't wait to see this. I'll post my review tomorrow after I view it.
FoxTailMusic 10-30-2002, 11:05 PM I really enjoyed this! I learned a lot about John. Like PB said, lots of rare pictures and footage. I agree that the People Magazine guy should have not been there. Where was Richard Kline? It was great to see Joyce and Suzanne again. I had no idea about his brother. I really didn't know a lot about John personally before tonight, but I got a lot of information from this show. Good job A&E.
Austin Tripper 10-31-2002, 04:11 AM LOVED IT!!! John is all class.. and seeing everyone he worked with was there.. and saying nice things
but the people magazine guy was a moron!!
cowgirl55 10-31-2002, 09:49 AM wow, that was a good bio!! but i also have to agree that that people magazine punk should not have been there! i was surprised that they interview people like billy bob thorton, and also surprised they didnt have more from the cast of tc. they did interview joyce alot didnt they? and i wished it had been 2 hours, but it was good despite that!!
Scoobiedoo30 10-31-2002, 01:01 PM Does Anyone Know If A&E Will Reair The Biography With John Ritter I Forgot About It AT Both (7:00 PM) And (11:00 PM)
Central Time On October 31,2002.
Aaron
Sean Snow 10-31-2002, 06:42 PM I thought it was great! I loved all the clips they had, especially the ones from "John Ritter: Being of Sound Mind and Body" and from "The Dating Game". It was nice seeing more about his early life. And I have to agree with everyone about the People magazine guy.
