And yet Hallmark's ratings erosion over the years has been notably smaller than platforms that abandoned original content. The result: It's not uncommon for Hallmark (https://www.google.com/search?q=Hallmark+Channel+is+thriving+amid+cable+TV%27s+decline&sca_esv=583572643&sxsrf=AM9HkKlOw8sPwepCiQ-0_6JZUoUb8gwcDg%3A1700297952354&ei=4HxYZcicFfO0qtsPsI68gAY&ved=0ahUKEwjIjNm7l82CAxVzmmoFHTAHD2AQ4dUDCBA&uact=5&oq=Hallmark+Channel+is+thriving+amid+cable+TV%27s+decline&gs_lp=Egxnd3Mtd2l6LXNlcnAiNEhhbGxtYXJrIENoYW5uZWwgaXMgdGhyaXZpbmcgYW1pZCBjYWJsZSBUVidzIGRlY2xpbmUyBRAhGKABMgUQIRigATIFECEYoAFIrQhQAFiFBHABeAGQAQCYAecDoAHnA6oBAzQtMbgBA8gBAPgBAfgBAqgCFMICBxAjGOoCGCfCAhYQABgDGI8BGOUCGOoCGLQCGIwD2AEBwgIWEC4YAxiPARjlAhjqAhi0AhiMA9gBAeIDBBgAIEGIBgG6BgYIARABGAs&sclient=gws-wiz-serp) to have the most-watched entertainment program in all of cable on a given night, especially during the holiday season.

When you take a successful chain of greeting card stores and build an entire empire of success it usually pays off well and that empire can inspire many things that spells success for the stores. With Hallmark that can be true because when you put the Hallmark name on anything you see Hallmark can make a success. When Hallmark Channel made it's debut many people were shocked to see Hallmark getting into the TV network business because after seeing how well the famous Hallmark Hall Of Fame movies became popular on CBS Hallmark decided to take a chance and create a new kind of family network that was different than the other networks such as Odyssey Network The Family Channel/Freeform and PAX TV and even today it's no secret that Hallmark Channel is still going strong. Part of the reason what has made Hallmark Channel survive is that they focus on original programming rather than any other programming. Before focusing on their original programming Hallmark Channel survived on reruns of sitcoms such as Cheers The Golden Girls Frasier dramas such as Matlock and Walker Texas Ranger and reruns of The Martha Stewart Show but it wasn't until the talk show Home And Family was launched that Hallmark Channel began a new image by developing original shows that fit well with an audience. And that's why dramas like When Calls The Heart and The Good Witch became successful for Hallmark Network. But why I think Hallmark Channel remains a survivor in TV is every Christmas when they put out their new Christmas movies Hallmark Channel's ratings soar every year and the same thing is repeated in February when they have Valentine's Day movies and it seems that those two holidays are the biggest moneymakers for Hallmark Channel. And Hallmark Channel has even spun-off another channel called Hallmark Movies and Mysteries where you can find reruns of classic mystery shows such as Hart To Hart and TJ Hooker as well as original Hallmark shows and that is simply another feather in Hallmark's cap. So Hallmark Channel won't be riding off into the sunset but Hallmark will probably develop a pay to watch streaming app in the near future

I love Hallmark channel and I love Christmas. But Hallmark is showing Christmas movies too early. I think Halmark should show Christmas after Thanksgiving. They do it every year and it drives me nuts. Wait until Thanksgiving is over then start showing Christmas movies.

They should branch out with Halloween, and Thanksgiving movies, and in the early part of the year at least one Mother's Day and then Fathers Day. I'm not sure if they already do Valentine's Day.
