The Fox Sports veteran who currently hosts Amazon Prime Video's Thursday Night Football pregame show made the stunning admission on Pardon My Take. “I’ve said this before,” Thompson said. “I haven’t been fired to saying it, but I’ll say it again (https://awfulannouncing.com/nfl/charissa-thompson-sideline-reports.html). I would make up the report sometimes, because A, the coach wouldn’t come out at halftime, or it was too late and I didn’t want to screw up the report. So I was like, ‘I’m just gonna make this up.’ Because first of all, no coach is gonna get mad if I say, ‘Hey, we need to stop hurting ourselves, we need to be better on third down, we need to stop turning the ball over and do a better job of getting off the field.’ They’re not gonna correct me on that. So I’m like, it’s fine, I’ll just make up the report.” Thompson's comments drew condemnation from sports media stars. "Young reporters: This is not normal or ethical (https://twitter.com/MollyAMcGrath/status/1725229248674234569). Coaches and players trust us with sensitive information, and if they know that you’re dishonest and don’t take your role seriously, you’ve lost all trust and credibility," tweeted Molly McGrath, a sideline reporter for ESPN college football. Tulane football sideline reporter Maddy Hudak accused Thompson of “setting women back” by doing her job this way and touting it publicly. The New York Post sports media reporter tweeted that Thompson "messed up on so many levels...All the sideline reporters who do the job correctly look bad as a result (https://twitter.com/AndrewMarchand/status/1725234891871105436)."

It doesn't seem that shocking. I think they are making too big of a deal out of this. It didn't affect the outcome of any games. She's not the only one ever to do it. Nobody would have ever known about it if she didn't mention it in an interview.

I Found Every Time Charissa Thompson Lied (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D7r0fWaQzZ8)

FOX reporter and Amazon's Thursday Night Football host Charissa Thompson admitted that she lied about her sideline reports during the 2008 NFL season, and just made up quotes from coaches. And after searching through the tape from 2008, and watching her reports... let's just say it's painfully obvious when she was making things up and had no idea what she was talking about.

Who remembers Reggie Rucker? What a crazy story.

The DUMBEST NFL Announcer Moment in NBC HISTORY | Reggie Rucker (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fSS5BqxrKJo)

In a 1984 NFL on NBC game between the Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals, color commentator Reggie Rucker, who was a rising star in the broadcasting industry before the game, made a comment about Bengals head coach Sam Wyche and running back James Brooks that was completely made up. The seemingly stupid white lie wound up destroying his reputation, destroying his credibility, and ending his broadcasting career. This is the story behind the crazy controversy involving the NFL on NBC.
