If you came of age in the 3 network era, which one had the shows and stars you tended to gravitate toward most? Or to phrase it another way, which one did you want to win Battle Of The Network Stars?

I voted CBS , I think most of the shows I watched were on CBS ? But than I know the Friday lineup was ABC. Brady Bunch, Partridge Family and Room 222 so maybe a tie ? ;)

Also the 3 UHF stations where they showed Gilligan's Island, The Munsters and the Flintstones if you could tolerate the bad reception at times, always had to be fiddling with the rabbit ears watching those channels.

ABC. It had most of the shows I watched as a kid - Happy Days, Mork & Mindy, Tales Of The Gold Monkey, The Greatest American Hero, The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries, Battlestar Galactica

For us I only remember 1 UHF Channel: KECH-22. I remember watching Land Of The Giants, Father Knows Best, Mission Impossible. They also played a bunch of the old serials like Buck Rogers, King of the Rocket Men, Flash Gordon.

It was between ABC and CBS. I went with ABC because it had the great Tuesday lineup of Happy days, Laverne and Shirley, Three's Company and Soap along with Love Boat, Charlie's Angels, Baretta, Greatest American Hero, The fall Guy. I could go on and on. CBS I liked because of the Norman Lear shows mainly. I think about the only shows I watched on NBC in the 70's was Little House, Sanford & Son, Chico and the Man and the Rockford Files. I do miss those days. There was always something to watch and you pretty much had to watch them live because very few had VCR's.

I went with ABC for Friday nights - Brady Bunch, Partridge Family, Room 222, The Odd Couple and Love American Style. I could have gone with CBS since they has a superior Saturday morning cartoons line up.

If I was watching with my parents then NBC would have been the choice. Dad liked Huntley and Brinkley and Laugh-in. Mom liked Star Trek and Ironside.

I'll go with ABC because it had Dark Shadows. But second place is CBS who had Gilligan's Island and The Munsters.

Years back when I was a kid I seem to remember my mom and dad watched NBC more than the other two networks.

Judging by the number of sitcoms in the 1960s and 1970s my family watched, and the soap operas my mother watched (The Guiding Light, Search for Tomorrow, Love of Life, The Edge of Night, probably others), CBS

As a kid I didn't pay much attention to the networks, whatever my favorite show was just happened to land on either ABC and NBC and CBS was mostly called the network for "grandparents".

ABC
Three's Company
Two Close For Comfort (later moved to syndication)
Three's A Crowd
Who's The Boss
the whole TGIF block of shows up until late 90's

NBC
The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air
Blossom
Unsolved Mysteries
Diff'rent Strokes (later moved to ABC)
Punky Brewster (later moved to syndication)
Knight Rider
The Cosby Show
V - The first two mini-series and later the ongoing series
Misfits Of Science

Then as a teen in the 90's I was mostly a FOX viewer.

I voted for NBC because in terms of primetime shows it was my favorite. Mostly due to the Must-See TV line-up of Friends, Seinfeld, Frasier, Mad About You, Will & Grace, etc.

But actually, my favorite network as a whole was Fox. As a baby born in the 80's, Fox was the network I grew up watching. BH 90210, Melrose Place, Party of Five, MadTV, Living Single, these were the shows I watched.

Also, of note for daytime TV ABC was my clear favorite. We were a Good Morning America family; largely because we loved Joan Lunden. I watched ALL of the ABC daytime soap operas as well.

I voted for NBC because it was the station that came in the clearest from the antennae in the tree, not because it had the best shows. The other two networks came in like a snowstorm in Buffalo. They were unwatchable when the wind was blowing. The other channel which came in decent in good weather was my PBS affiliate.

I lived out in the sticks and poor reception was the norm. My parents refused to buy tv which is supposed to be free ( No cable TV).

My Favorite on this list is USA Cartoon Express. Later when I had cable and Boomerang I liked " The Boomerang Zoo" with all the different Hanna Barbera cartoons.
