A Honeymooners Election Day:
(Ralph & Ed are watching a campaign ad in Ed’s apartment on Ed’s TV.)
Ralph: “After all of those ads, I am not sure who to vote for.”
Ed: “Me neither Ralph.”
Ralph: “All of those people going to the polls to vote.”
Ed: “Not me this year. It’s too much trouble.”
Ralph: “Whst? In 1680, a group of pilgrims left England sailing to America on a boat called the Mayfair. The water was rough. They had nothing to eat. Finally, they landed in America and they had to fight the Indians. It was freezing. Do you know why they did that? Just so you can vote. Now what do you got to say to that?”
Ed: “If they knew about me they could’ve saved themselves the trip.”
Ralph: “You are voting Norton because I said so. EVERYONE should vote. It’s a FREE country.”
Ed: “Well, now that you put it that way.”
(They sing a song about voting.)
(Jackie walks on stage. Crowd cheers.)
Jackie: “Everyone should go out and vote. Let’s bring out Art Carney.”
(Crowd cheers as Art comes on stage and shakes Jackie’s hand.)
Jackie: “Goodnight everyone.”
(Crowd cheers.)
