Today while listening to music I found a 90's hits album and when I listened to it it got me to thinking that music in the 90's was a lot better than what's out there today. For instance in rock music you had stars like Shawn Mullins and Eagle-Eye Cherry and in pop music you had Sophie B. Hawkins and Paula Abdul and in R&B music TLC R. Kelly and Pebbles burned up the charts and in rap you had bands like Kid 'N' Play and PM Dawn. And perhaps you remember dancing with your crush to Surface's 1991 hit The First Time or Paula Abdul's hit Rush Rush also from 1991? Or playing Vanessa Williams's big hit Save The Best For Last on your stereo? When you look at the general picture the 90's music was simply the best because there were new artists and groups that would go far and some that became one-hit wonders. Take for instance one of the R&B groups that was featured in that album Surface became a huge R&B group in the 80's with their ballad Shower Me With Your Love and when they released their single The First Time in 1991 it became a popular song of the 90's but after that song Surface disappeared. And where is Eagle-Eye Cherry? It seemed that after his single Save Tonight was a smash hit Eagle-Eye Cherry was destined to be huge in the 90's but the only famous one that got far was Eagle-Eye's sister Neneh Cherry who released the album Homebrew in 1992. And what about Dionne Farris too? Because after her single I Know became a hit Dionne Farris was gonna go far after being with the band Arrested Development but she never released a second album. But if anyone were to ask you which decade has the best music you'll mostly say the 90's had the best music

Before July 5th, I would've said that the 90's had the better stuff. What's happened with my two pennies since then? They are now in the possession of this complete and total beautiful precious masterpiece of a young man, I love him so much!!! :) :) :)

God bless you and him always!!!

P.S. My only regret is not knowing of him when the world was first introduced to him in 2018 when he was just 11 years old. :( :( :(

I think also why 90's music was better than today's music was because in R&B music it was the start of the genre known as New Jack Swing/New Jill Swing and you had R&B groups like En Vogue SWV TLC and Silk and Jodeci making their marks in R&B music and new female singers like Mary J. Blige and Monica and the late Aaliyah were bursting on the scene and they actually sang great songs. But in rock music it was new bands like Dave Matthews Band Counting Crows and Alice In Chains and Green Day that really brought a fresh new vibe to rock music. But nowadays rock singers like Shawn Mullins have disappeared and you haven't heard about Shawn Mullins since his lone hit Lullaby was a 90's classic but when we were introduced to stars like Mariah Carey in 1990 it surely brought a new direction to pop music and what it would sound like in the future. But you never hear anything from 90's singers and groups such as Boy Meets Girl Boy Krazy Brenda K. Starr Jeremy Jordan Linear and Sweet Sensation and Martika and George LaMond these days anymore
