My introduction to Fritz was from the two animated films (Fritz The Cat, and Nine Lives Of Fritz The Cat), the only time I had to rent animated movies from the adult section of a video store.
And from there I was introduced to the works of underground comic book artist Robert Crumb (the creator of Fritz), and getting into Crumb, introduced me to the world of underground comics, which led me to ordering comics from Bud Plant Inc., (a mail order comic/comics art related company and one of the best resources at the time for underground/indie comics. Though I got my first catalog by way of Conan The Barbarian Marvel Magazine, the back of the mag had an ad for Bud Plant, and I ordered a poster, which I never got as they ran out, but I became a longtime customer of theirs.), when you ordered items, they would always send a random free comic. Which is how I was introduced to the long running adult-oriented Omaha The Cat Dancer.

Another cat I just discovered is from the show " Bob". Bob Newhart's third sitcom from the 90's. He and his wife had a beautiful cat. Been watching some eps. lately since it's playing on Catchy Comedy on Saturdays now.:)
