View Full Version : Was Alan Alda On After M*A*S*H Scoobiedoo30 09-10-2002, 09:54 PM Does Anyone Know If Alan Alan Was On After M*A*S*H Thanks Aaron The reporter bdh1776 09-11-2002, 10:38 AM Nope, Alan Alda wasn't on AfterMASH, but if memory serves, Col. Potter would occasionaly talk to Hawkeye on the phone during an episode. I think Radar was the only other MASH member to make an appearance, and he made two of them. RLent 01-17-2003, 02:22 PM If Hawkeye had appeared on an episode of AfterMash, I am sure the ratings would have been high. The show could have done well as a vehicle for "what are they doing now" episodes. Roy5 06-10-2003, 02:15 PM According to a tabloid I read one time in 1984, Alan Alda was approached about a guest appearance, and the objective of course was to give the ratings a push. But Mr. Alda wasn't interested. At the time he was involved with the TV adaptation of The Four Seasons, which starred Allan Arbus. Radar and Col. Flagg were the only characters from M*A*S*H* to appear on this show. -Roy5 MASHMan 05-11-2004, 07:08 PM Potter (nor anybody else) ever talked to Hawkeye on the phone during "AfterMASH." Hawkeye DID "sort of" appear on the show, though. A first season episode had Col. Potter receiving all his 4077th gear from Korea, which Mrs. Potter used to decorate his office at the hospital. There was a nice pan of all the memorabilia, ending with a shot of the painting Potter did of the rest of the "later years" cast from the "Picture This" episode. The painting was later seen in Potter's office throughout the rest of "AfterMASH"'s run. The -only- time Hawkeye was ever mentioned in "AfterMASH" was in the second half of the hour-long first episode, in which Mulcahy is undergoing the operation to restore his hearing and he thinks "Hawkeye used to say 'Korea': First cousin to Dia." (As in "Dia-rea!") |
