We've seemed to be talking lately about inconsistencies in the show. I've noticed another that I've finally remembered to ask about.
Some of my favorite shows are the flashbacks. Ever since I saw my first flashback, I've tried to figure out how long Rob and Laura were married before Ritchie came along. From everything I've seen there is no good answer.
In some episodes, they refer to it being several years. In others, it seems like it was shortly after they were married. In the episode about Ritchie being born, they were living in "our old house" and when Laura told Rob she was pregnant, he worked in "our old office". But when they tell the story about how they bought the house and when they moved in, Laura was pregnant in both. When she brought her baby home, it was to the new house.
Also, they lived in Illinois shortly after they were married, but then they lived in Texas for a while, but then they must have moved back to Illinois because Rob worked as a DJ for a while there and then meet with Alan Brady in Chicago.
There are many other things said in many other episodes that just don't add up about their past, especially the early marriage years. I think it's mostly because the writers didn't try to make it all fit when they were writing. They thought of a good idea for a flashback episode, so they wrote it even if it didn't completely fit with what they had said before.
So has anyone else thought of any more inconsistencies?
