This is my video essay on the television show Kevin Can “F” Himself and how it’s a shining example of the way filmmaking techniques can alter the dynamics of the story. While other sitcoms stick to a basic formula, this is one show that flips the script on all others.

In fact, it parodies and provides commentary on the faults of most sitcoms. Jokes made at the expense of ignorant characters seem to be a staple of most sitcoms. But what if these characters fought back? What if instead of continuing to be a happy-go-lucky sitcom, the actual format of the show changed into something darker and grittier in the exact same scene?
