InspectorExstead 09-13-2002, 10:03 PM she "left" the show. she was always arriving late and disrupting everything. and she got into fights with jennie garth because she was getting more lines than shannen. of course, aaron spelling totally denies it. Shannen shouldn't be on a TV show anymore. Did you hear she put Charmed down after she "left" (but really fired) from the show? She said it was a show for 12 year olds and other stuff. What is wrong with her temper? Charmed was mostly about her I don't understand why she would start stuff. I never liked her in 90210. I'm glad she "left" the show. Do you think Aaron Spelling will ask her to be in another one of his shows? :D InspectorExstead 09-15-2002, 08:33 PM Originally posted by Silver Daze Shannen shouldn't be on a TV show anymore. I heard she made sick comments about Alyssa. Do you know what all she said? I was watching the revealed with Alyssa Milano on E! and they were talking about how Shannen said Charmed is a show for 12 years olds. I kind of agree with her. Charmed got silly in season 3. Then adding Rose McGowan was just a bad mistake. I love Shannen I think she is very pretty and SO talented and has good taste in friends (Sarah Michelle Gellar is one of them :D). I hope Shannen comes back to TV and stays on TV. Also what episodes of 90210 was Shannen a bad girl? I thought she was nice in the show. What all did she do? I don't watch those years only the Valerie/Gina years. I love those two girls, especially TIFFANI!!!!!!! I love those two girls, especially TIFFANI!!!!!!! if you mean what i said about her and jennie garth fighting and shannen showing up late (when you said which episode she was a bad girl in), i was talking about shannen in real life. but, her character, brenda, did get a little rebellious when she moved in with dylan after not listening to her parents when they told her she couldn't see him. then, they bribed her with paris, she went, kelly and dylan and everything started lol! i loooove tiff! tiffani and jennie are my favorite!!!! gina was annoying. she was a valerie knock off. i just hated her. they were trying to make her like val and it just wasn't working. isiahthomas 12-17-2002, 11:37 AM I actually liked Brenda on 90210. I always have liked Shannen Doherty. I was wondering why she left Charmed, i liked her on there too. Sophie Treadmill 07-20-2007, 10:56 AM I know this is an old thread, but I hate making multiple threads for the same subject. I really liked the Brenda character. She had some substance, IMO. But, it seemed to me, her personal problems with people on the set spilled over into the writing near the end of her work on the show. All of a sudden she became the "bad" girl, acting out, etc. I didn't care for what the writers did to her character (just like Kelly, but that's another thread). In particular, I remember an episode from the college years with the drama teacher (Robin Colchord, hee!) and everyone accused her of sleeping with him to get the role of Maggie the Cat. It just seemed out of line and out of character for everyone. Even her own brother joined in on the finger pointing, instead of defending his sister. It just didn't ring true for Brenda's character or for the relationships she had had with the others. It was as though the writers let offset turmoil dictate some of the writing in the latter part of the Brenda episodes. It was as though the writers let offset turmoil dictate some of the writing in the latter part of the Brenda episodes. I loved Brenda too. I agree about her having some substance...Hell, I`ll even go as far as saying she had a pair! She did!...She sometimes said things nobody else would. She spoke her mind. It seemed like she was one of the few characters that actually felt like a real high school student. I also agree about the writers making a few (little) changes, if you will, to Brenda near the end. I don't know if that was exactly what they were trying to do, but Shannen Doherty`s public image (are those the right words?...Her public situation, maybe?) did seem to be pouring onto the show a little....I also remember there seemed to be less interaction between Brenda and the rest of the characters, near the end of her run on the show. BTW, I thought I was good!.....MAN! You remembered the actor who played the drama teacher, and the role Brenda got! LOL Sophie Treadmill 07-27-2007, 01:24 PM Well, I'm a theatre person, and Maggie the Cat is such a classic legendary character, it's not hard to forget what they were auditioning for. My undergrad theatre dept had its own mini-controversy of a totally different nature, related to that particular role. ;) Getting back to Brenda, I've always been conflicted about her relationship with Stuart too. She jumped in headfirst, which in part led to her isolation from the other characters (as well as not joining a sorority like Donna and Kelly). What I've been conflicted is whether I think the Stuart thing was true to the character. You could say she was still nursing some wounds over Dylan even though some time had passed, and that the impulsivity of the relationship with Stuart could be traced to that. Or, you could say she seemed far too headstrong to do such a thing. Also, people do change as they get older and they were now in college and perhaps this was just part of her changing, albeit not for the better, but changing nonetheless. I'm stuck between thinking her character really jumped the shark when Stuart was introduced and just seeing it as part of a reaction to her hurt feelings over Dylan. Oh, and yeah, Brenda definitely had a pair! That's what I liked about her. She didn't mince words when push came to shove. Sophie Treadmill 07-27-2007, 01:26 PM Sorry, double post! littlebelle 01-01-2008, 09:24 PM Anyone who hates on Shannen has no life and is either blind, stupid, deaf or all of the above. Shannen Doherty is beautiful, talented, stunning, smart, real, honest and an amazing person. The world needs more people like Shando and the world needs more TV and Movies with Shannen in them!! Shannen D. forever!! catlover79 01-01-2008, 09:45 PM Gosh, I still remember her from Our House and on Little House on the Prairie (when it became A New Beginning). |
