Every Christmas the city of Dallas puts on it's own answer to Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade by teaming up with Nieman-Marcus by having Nieman-Marcus Holiday Parade which takes place in downtown Dallas where the original Nieman-Marcus store is much like Macy's is in Herald Square. This parade has lots of floats and balloons mostly Texas themed and famous celebrities appear in this parade too. While wonderful the most impressive thing about this parade is the wonderful end when Santa arrives and gives Texas a Merry Christmas dressed in a cowboy hat and arrives by a stagecoach. The Nieman-Marcus Holiday Parade used to be shown in syndication on TV every Christmas but I don't know why they stopped showing it since I first discovered it on TV in 2000
