Heres my lovely little story of what happened to me tonight. Well, I was coming back from Shaws (food store) with my friend Amanda and I was driving back home. Anyways, I was driving over a bridge (not over water- a bridge that goes over train tracks, its just a regular road just up like a bridge-ANYWAYS!) in Plaistow NH when all of a sudden Amandas like a cops behind behind us further back. Yeah, THEN he puts on his blues, so I have to switch lanes to pull over- me, being soooo nervous pull over onto the sidewalk and off lol. Me, being stupid, thought he was chasing after someone else (not that there was anyone in FRONT of me:rolleyes: ) and he did the usual (license, reg. etc). only I couldnt find the registration because it was my fathers vehicle so he just took my license and went back to his car for like, 5 minutes. I tried pulling the innocent act, and seriously I was SOOOO scared, I was shaking uncrontrollably and he asked where I was heading to so fast lol (my house!) Then, he came back with my ticket. The ticket is $72. I kept telling Amanda not to tell ANYONE, not even my parents. Well, I got home and told my mother and she laughed it off! Then I told her about how much it was and she got mad (not at me- the cop) saying it was my first time ever being pulled over and that I shouldve gotten a warning and saying she wants to fight it lol. Then, she called my brother up in Maine (whos 33) because hes gotten soo many tickets for stuff like that and he said its not worth fighting and I should just pay. Then he said he knew the cop and said he was nice (he was). Then, my mother said he was in front of her once and he was going home lol and shes like "Ohh...maybe I can pay him a visit and we can work something out!" lol. Anyways, I told a few friends and they all said INCLUDING My mother they always do the speed that I got a ticket for and nothings EVER happened to them! Yeah, ok I do it ONCE and get a ticket- I have been made an example! ARGH! Plus, once my mother got pulled over here on Main St. @ 3am and she was going to work and she was doing 18 over and she got off with a warning. She ALSO told the cop "Listen, Im in a rush I gotta go to work!" OMG...life so unfair!! lolol I was all upset before, but Im relieved to know Im not the only one! Anyways..has anyone ever been pulled over before?

Ohh meangya..I forgot to say my speed and stuff. I was doing 51 in a 35 (16 miles over the speed limit).

Eh, its OK, I was really upset before because people like me dont get pulled over!! lol. But after I told my mother and she laughed it was like, its NOT that big of a deal. I only get one point on my license. The only thing I was scared about was that theyd contact my Dad and stuff. He doesnt really have a temper, but its his truck and stuff and I wouldnt want him to NOT let me drive it-I can be trusted, honestly, Im not that stupid! Oh, and Im 18 though, which is good, because over here if your under 18 you can go to court for something like that. I didnt even GET my license til June 12th this year (I was 18- and I took drivers ed when I was 15 and a half!- Im not big on driving! lol)

I've never gotten a ticket, but OMG I am the most paranoid person to ever walk the face of the earth when a cop follows me, even for like a block. I HATE IT! I also get so damn scared and I always think he's gonna pull me over. One time I was going up Marine Rd. (About a 5 mile Drive) and a cop was on my tail THE WHOLE FRIGGEN WAY!!!!! You don't knw what that does to me. I just keep on saying to myself to pull into a driveway, but I always think I'm going to fast to slow down and pull into the driveway. So when do I pull into a driveway? Right before the end of the road, where it splits into a left or right turn. And the driveway I happen to pull in was a restricted zone. Trucks and ID only. I thought to myself, WHAT an IDIOT! So I just keep on drving into teh driveway looking for a place I can do a U-turn. So it took me 10 minutes to get back to the main road. I'm horrible. And if you're a cop here, DON'T EVER DRIVE BEHIND! I BREAK INTO PEICES! LOLOL! Some of you may think I'm crazy, but oh well, what's new? LOL.....

Yups, thanks;)

I always thought getting a ticket was like this huge thing, but now I realize EVERYONE gets them (not just the stupid people who SHOULD have them) and everyone makes mistakes and you shouldnt let them get to you, life DOES go on! lol.

Yeah, Im the same way. lol Im always saying people should never be nervous when they see a cop and they shouldnt HAVE to flash their lights to warn others, because they should be doing the speed limit anyways! (Look whos talking!! lol) and I always get excited when I see a cop pulling someone over and I try to see if I know them lol-I guess I have no life hehe. I also told my mother Im going to start doing citizens arrests lol. Someone give me a life!

lol what r citizens arrests

¤I Love Clay Aiken¤
09-08-2002, 11:53 PM
I could explain it myself, but heres the definition:
An arrest made by a citizen, for whom legal authority arises from the fact of citizenship, rather than by an officer of the law.

In other words, any person can just arrest someone, but thats not really around anymore. Nowadays, theyd get blown off or beatup if they tried to do that, ya know? But lol, me being the Police Queen and stuff like that am always looking for something to get someone in trouble-lol its true, whenever Im with someone driving Im always looking at the other cars to see if I can find anything to ticket them with!

51 is pretty fast for a 35 mph area lol... but my sister did 46 in a 30 and got a ticket so she was in the same boat. It's really wierd though because the road is 45 mph.. and then right before you get to my schoo it changes to 30. Cops usually just sit out there in the mornings and pull over several people at once. Gotta make that quota ya know. Anyways my parents were PISSED when she got that... but my sisters friend dad is a lawyer and he's at the courthouse a lot and he like got the ticket thrown out and stuff.. she was lucky tho cuz otherwise it was a crapload of money.

My cousin did like 43 in a 40 mile zone and got pulled over... that just shows you how bored the cops are in her town.

Yeah Ok..so today I got a letter from the District thing up in Concord. My mother opened it up for me because I was sleeping and she didnt want my dad to see it. Anyways..she just showed me it...its this big thing about I can go to a hearing on the 30th blah blah blah..or I can just MAIL in my liscense..because its being suspended!! Since its my first and ONLY offense (from now on!!!) it will only have to be suspended for 20 days. 20 Days aint that bad, seeing how I barely drive anyways! The thing that sucks is that itll cost me $50 to restore my damn liscense again once the 20 days are up!! Grrr.. WHY MUST I STILL BE HAUNTED BY THIS?!?!PLUS...I have to not drive at ALL for 20 days....(duh) so that means I cant do any errands. I dont care, BUT my dad doesnt know that 1). I got pulled over. 2). I got a ticket. and 3). It will be suspended for 20 days. So if he ever wants me to go driving (he tries to encourage me because I hate it) Ill have to make up some lame-o excuse. The only thing word I can think of that sums up all this aggravation is MEANGYA!!!!

20 DAYS?!?! For a ticket?! My God... you poor New Hampshire people. I'm reeaally sorry! :(

In answer to your question about has anyone else here gotten a ticket:

Yes, I have gotten several.

My first one was because I rear ended someone (we were waiting to make a left hand turn and I thought we had an arrow but we didn't, so when the person pulled up into the intersection, I thought they were turning, and I hit them. It had also just been raining really really hard so the road was really slick. If the pavement had been dry I probably wouldn't have.) That was when I was 17, and had been driving for about 3-6 months. (things that long ago are so blurry...I can't remember for sure! )

My second one was for speeding, and this one was highly irritating. There's this huge hill where the speed limit is 35 MPH. You can easily approch 50 just from the momentum you gain going down the hill. One day I was going down it at about 45, and there was a cop at the very bottom of the hill. What really irritates me is he followed me for about 2 miles before he finally pulled me over. What, did he have to think about it? Did he have to look up my license to see that I was a teenager and therefore more worthy of being pulled over? I mean, if you're going to pull me over do it where I made the offense, not 2 or 3 miles down the road. Whatever. So supposedly the residents of the neighborhood at the bottom of the hill had been complaining about everyone speeding down that hill, so they were patrolling it more. Funny thing, I drive that hill all the time when I am home, and I have never ever seen a cop there again. Talk about being made into a guinea pig. That was when I was like 18 I think.

Then a little while back I got another speeding ticket, but I totally do not remember the circumstances surrounding it. But I know I got it because when I totalled my car awhile back, I got slapped with an extra fine because it was my second moving violation within a year. That was like a year ago, so I was 22ish.

I've also gotten a parking ticket.

It sounds like I'm a really bad driver, and when I was younger I was, but I really am a quite good driver now for the most part, so it's frustrating that I always seem to get the tickets when I see other people going like 100 on the freeway, or making left turns from the right lane, or driving the wrong way down one way streets, etc. get away with it. Oh well.

So anyway, yes it happens to all of us, and yes, some of us have been made examples of before too.

~*~*~*~
To the comment about the town that gave someone a ticket for going 43 in a 40mph zone.... there's this one town by me that is notorious for doing the same thing. They are so bad they will give you a ticket if you are going the speed limit on a rainy day, because supposedly it's a law that you have to go 5 miles under when it's raining.

~*~*~*~
As far as not telling your father about this: suit yourself, but who pays your car insurancec bills? He better not see them, because don't be surprised if they get raised, and then he'll probably be more pissed.
~*~*~*~

That is insane that you got your license suspended for your ticket. Did you pay it on time? I suppose, because if not there would be a warrant out for your arrest. Still, all those tickets I've gotten above, including 2 accidents (the one where I totaled my car didn't involve any other cars though), and I have never once gotten my license suspended. That sucks!

Whew! Sorry that was so long, man was I rambling....

Yeah..just because people get tickets a lot or whatever, doesnt make them a bad driver. My brother has had SO many tickets, yet hes a really good driver. His wife on the other hand hasnt gotten a couple (I think) if not any! and is kinda...*bad*. Oh God yes! I told everyone I did 51 over the bridge and they were all like *OMG! I do that all the time and never get pulled over!* I hate being made into an example- a bad one at that! My MOTHER gets the insurance bill and actually just took care of it. She says he doesnt even look at it. She pays the the insurance bill. So PHEW on that one! I paid it on time yes, but they suspend you liscense if its within your first year of driving. I just got my liscense on June 12th! Yeah my mom told me about the bench warrent thing...lol I freaked! Well..itll only be for 20 days...and Im lucky if I even drive every 20 days...so Im all set hopefully!

Oh God I know!! No...I paid it- if I didnt theyd have a warrent out for my arrest!!  Anyways..its the NH law now that if you get a ticket within you FIRST year of getting your liscense, its gets suspended. It wasnt like that a few years ago, but a LOT of teens died in car accidents right after they got their liscense. Gee..DRINKING couldnt have been a factor!!!
