Today we begin our commercial research by going on a "Supermarket Sweep" to Shur-Sav and before we begin our commercial research a big thank you to my mom for providing me info on this no longer existing Texas based supermarket chain. "Thank you Mom" Love Hawkee. Now Shur-Sav "I don't know why they spelled it like this instead of the traditional spelling of Sure Save" was a Texas based supermarket chain featured mainly in the El Paso area that was a great supermarket but later expanded to New Mexico and other Texas cities that promoted great sales through their commercials. The first commercial featured the store's jingle that debuted in 1987 and the second Shur-Sav commercial featured the Shur-Sav Fantastic Five which looked like a crew of new Marvel characters which referred to each store's crew and the commercial looked cool. The third commercial honored the new stores of Shur-Sav in New Mexico by having special deals and is also neat too. These are the only commercials I found of this supermarket but I remember going to Shur-Sav a lot in Texas when I would visit my grandmother and they were nice. The stores got sold to IGA in the 90's before closing in Texas. When it comes to supermarkets Texas sure had a lot of great ones like these stores
