View Full Version : Who would play Jeannie in a new movie?
JeannieNelson 09-08-2002, 11:40 AM I think Lisa Kudrow could really well. But Barbara Eden would have to be in the movie as well maybe as like a relative and Larry Hagman as well has to be there. It would be so hard seeing 2 different people playing Jeannie and Tony. But I guess having another movie would be wonderful!!!!!!!!!
P.S. I still do not know where to edit my profile to get rid of this fox picture so someone help!!!!!!!!!

Go to your "user cp" on your top right corner, then go to "edit options", and at the bottom of the page there should be a picture of your current advar and press "change advar". Then, you'll be took to another page, from there you can enter the url of the picture you want, or choose from an available list of advars. Once your done, press "Submit Modifications".
I hope this helps!
solidchristian_88 11-19-2002, 11:48 PM I can't anwser for a new Jeanie since I'm not fimmiar with too many adult blond actresses. However, I *Can* say that Scott Baio would make a *Really* cool Tony.
ruffelle 06-10-2003, 07:42 PM charlize theron would be great as jeannie.
treky 06-11-2003, 03:43 AM I also think Lisa Kudrow woul be great. In fact, the more I think about it, she'd be perfect!
And as Tony, I don't know, maybe Tom Hanks?
Steve Martin and Goldie Hawn would be good as Dr. & Mrs. Bellows
Wasn't Alicia Silverstone mentioned a couple of years ago for either "Jeannie" or "Bewitched?"
Stormtracker TF 06-11-2003, 06:42 PM Nobody can play Jeannie like Barbara Eden. She fit and played her Character perfectly, I dont think anyone could do a better job.

I agree.
LucyCompanyPhan 07-05-2003, 11:27 PM Lisa Kudrow would be great as Jeannie
Or maybe Alica Silverstone Or Sarah Michelle Geller Or Cameron Diaz.
Matthew Perry as Tony
Breckin Meyer as Roger
John Cleese as Dr.Bellows
Winona Ryder as Mrs.Bellows
Tweety 07-07-2003, 11:08 PM Wow, good quesiton...
Lisa Kudrow is probably the best choice I can think of, off hand...she's beautiful, and has a good talent for comedy...
Of course, Barbara Eden HAD to be the most beautiful actress ever to star (or even appear) in a sitcom...there's only one Barbara :)
But Lisa K would be as good a choice as any, I think...
treky 07-08-2003, 12:36 AM another good choice would be Reese Witherspoon.
LucyCompanyPhan 07-08-2003, 04:25 PM Kate Hudson wouldn't be a bad choice either.
I Dream of Jeannie 07-08-2003, 05:03 PM There is only one person in the world who could play her correctly and that's Barbara. She made the role her own. No one would ever really accept Jeannie played by anyone else, I for one wouldn't.
mcgwirefan 07-08-2003, 05:15 PM She still looks good enough to play Jeannie.

GNR4eva 09-16-2003, 11:21 PM Nobody can/could , she's too original a charater and irreplaceable on the screen , I couldn't come up with 1 person who would be able to pull it off besides IMO ther's no one That would be able to equal the "hottness" in that outfit !

I poop j00r pants 09-17-2003, 04:15 PM I would play Jeannie because I poop j00r pants.

BlueEyesKid 09-22-2003, 08:59 PM I can see Kate Hudson! :p
Josh9125 09-24-2003, 05:58 PM It would be almost impossible to find someone good enough to play Jeannie half as good as Barbara did.
Jeanniegirl 09-29-2003, 07:33 PM are you kidding, I don't think anyone could do Tony adn Jeannie like Barbara Eden and Larry Hagman. but that's just my opinion.
ModGenie 09-29-2003, 09:31 PM I agree.. Their chemistry on screen was so great.. I couldn't see any other actors/actresses do it the way Barbara and Larry did it. It would be nice to see a new movie, but I doubt I'd like it more than the original IDOJ... It just wouldnt be the same..
DustBunny 10-16-2003, 07:11 PM Jessica Simpson mentioned on the Larry King Show this week that her agent is trying to get her an audition to play Jeannie.
ModGenie 10-16-2003, 07:50 PM Yeah I heard.. but I dunno, though.. I just don't see Jessica Simpson as Jeannie.. To me, she doesn't really fit the part..
Ms LennonMcCartney 10-17-2003, 09:24 PM Hola amigos:
I heard the news about Jessica Simpson on the magazine show Extra. She said that her dream role is Jeannie. On that particular segment she mentioned that she wanted George Clooney or Robert Downey Jr as Tony.
George Clooney is a good choice for the role of Tony;), but I don't see Jessica Simpson as Jeannie.
But, to my opinion theres only two people that always be in our hearts for the role of Jeannie and Tony: Barbara and Larry !
Vivian,
See you in Puerto Rico, not Havana
treky 10-18-2003, 03:39 AM I just heard that they're planning an "IDOJ" movie with Sarah Jessica Parker, and either George Clooney or Robert Downey JR. as Tony.
Céline 10-18-2003, 11:59 AM No!No!No!Nobody can't be as great as Barbara. She was Jeannie:)
tvtator 10-18-2003, 07:52 PM I like the idea of Lisa Kudrow as Jeannie
For Tony I'd pick Eric McCormack

Oh, no! Please, Please, PLEEEEEASE, NO SARAH JESSICA PARKER!!!... If anyone is going to make an IDOJ movie, they should at least get someone who's good looking...
Lisa Kudrow would be good...Kate Hudson, I can kind of see...
but I definitely wouldn't watch an IDOJ movie with S.J. Parker...she is NOT attractive at all...and never was...
tvtator 10-20-2003, 11:27 AM I agree please not Sarah Jessica Parker
Her husband Matthew Broderick might be good as either Roger or Tony.
GNR4eva 10-21-2003, 12:42 PM Yeah , That wouldn't be such a good casting idea for Jeannie IMO , you need someone really eye-catching or at least someone that somewhat resembles Barbra in some way , like I said before I have no idea who you could use that would have the same style and charater .

Blue-eyed Djinn 12-10-2003, 05:20 PM speaking of lisa kudrow playing jeannie, remember the episode of friends where phoebe & joey are watching tv and she's crossed her arms & blinks?? each time she blinks the tv goes off or on, and she exclaims, "i'm doing it! i'm totally doing it!" then the camera switches to the apartment across the hall where monica is talking to rachel and keeps flipping a light switch off & on as she says, "i give up. i have no idea what this switch does," and she walks away. then back in the other apartment, when the tv is no longer affected by phoebe's blinks, she drops her arms and says disappointedly, "i lost it."
what great writing.
The Modfather 12-31-2003, 10:03 AM I think Kaley Cuoco would be a good Jeannie and Scott Baio a good Tony.
