We compare Major League Baseball ratings on TBS to the WNBA...and question how Major League Baseball can be outdrawn by the WNBA. We predict a disastrous postseason for Major League Baseball...and explain why there is no solution to fix Major League Baseball problems on television.

Good presentation, the commentator is correct the game at this point is boring, while the pitch clock helped, the problems are much deeper. Leaving that aside for another time, the entire televised presentation is awful and that can be fixed. There are too many announcers /analysts in the booth and the talk is nonstop. Baseball doesn't lend itself to being constantly picked apart pitch by pitch, it's just too much information. I saw part of a game on TBS awhile back and they actually presented a histogram to illustrate the frequency the batter at the plate hit to the various outfield locations. The strike box at home plate, exit velocity, and a seemingly endless parade of esoteric stats that have no attraction to a casual viewer chase the audience away rather than keeping their attention. All this can be fixed by training the announcers and analysts to let the game play out, offer fewer graphics present easier to understand basic information to the viewer that makes the game itself more approachable.

Game 6 of the 2022 World Series (the deciding game) was watched by fewer people than the average Monday night football game. It's beyond my comprehension why that doesn't tell the powers that be at the networks and in baseball that something basic is wrong with our television product and it needs to be fixed.
