We all have seen cleaning product mascots like Mr. Clean and Scrubbing Bubbles from Dow but there is one cleaning product mascot that hasn't been seen for a while and that is the famous Toilet Duck who debuted in commercials for the product of the same name beginning in 1992/1993. Toilet Duck is a duck dressed like an army sargent and flies a byplane and when he is ready to begin his duty of cleaning toilets he usually quacks like the famous duck from You Bet Your Life. Toilet Duck was actually a spin-off cleaner of Bathroom Duck Cleaner which cleaned all bathroom surfaces. What made Toilet Duck really different from other toilet cleaners was it's duck shaped nozzle which enabled the user to easily clean the toilet in a flash and later spun off Toilet Duck toilet bowl cleaner tablets which were shaped like ducks to drop in your toilet to keep it fresh. Despite a great commercial Toilet Duck left the market in 1997 but the Tollet Duck cleaning tablets are still sold today. Believe it or not my mom tried to use Toilet Duck once and we found it never actually worked. But I wonder why cleaning product commercials today are not made like this?
