Actor Robert Conrad died at age 84.
I don’t think he did sitcom work.

Robert Conrad was amazing as Jim West. His fight/action scenes and stunts showed a dancer's awareness of pose and movement and timing, almost like a Disney animated feature, silent movie, or comic strip. He was a joy to behold (and those little outfits didn't hurt either).

My Mom wouldn't allow me to watch Wild Wild West when it was originally on ("too violent"), so I'd have to sneak watching it by keeping the volume low and my ear close. :)

Conrand was also good in Hawaiian Eye playing one of the detectives. Connie Stevens was the girl club singer and is the only one still this side of the grass unfortunately, great cast in that show too.

But Wild Wild West was my favorite esp. when Jim West took on 6 guys at once and that fantastic background fight music they used, WOW, I loved it. The soundtrack to Wild Wild West is now FINALLY available as of last year or maybe 2018, it's got all the great music we'd hear INCLUDING the various fighting songs. YESH!

I liked The Wild, Wild, West, but I really loved Black Sheep Squadron with Robert Conrad as the tough but fair Pappy Boyington.

Decades is airing a Wild Wild West tribute binge this weekend. It looks like a set of episodes spanning all four seasons including the premiere, and then also the two TV movies from 1979 and 1980.

Do you know what the original binge was supposed to be?

Yes it was originally going to be the Love Boat. They may push it to next weekend.

Hawaiian Eye

1959–63

Conrad's first major role lasted just as long as The Wild Wild West — 104 episodes — but has since been overshadowed. Warner Bros. had an immediate hit in 1958 with 77 Sunset Strip, so the studio quickly repeated the formula of mixing P.I.s working vacation destinations. Hawaiian Eye, Bourbon Street Beat and Surfside 6 formed a TV universe of crime-solvers with tans and hep talk. Hawaii had just become a state, so the timing was perfect. Conrad played Lopaka, a half-Hawaiian investigator working alongside Tracy Steele (Anthony Eisley) in Honolulu. Much of the cast — Poncie Ponce, Connie Stevens and "Bob Conrad" included — even released pop records around the time to capitalize on the popularity of the show.
