Saw this video. Kind of hard to believe that MTV always had a problem with heavy metal, even at its peak in the mid-80's. They treated it, in the words or the cab driver on 'This Is Spinal Tap', as a fad. It was a huge money-making "fad" in that era. Who didn't want to be loud, proud, and heavy, and attract chicks?

It was almost surprising that many of the hosts of the show weren't particularly metal fans. Would you believe they even got Downtown Julie Brown to do an episode?
