American television sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air aired for six seasons on NBC from 1990 to 1996. It was produced by NBC Productions in association with the Stuffed Dog Company and Quincy Jones Entertainment, later Quincy Jones-David Salzman Entertainment. The series starred a teenage boy from West Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, born and raised. He’d spent most of his days on the playground. Chillin' out, maxin', relaxin' all cool and shootin' some b-ball outside of the school. One day he got in a fight when a couple of guys who were up to no good started making trouble in his neighborhood. His mom got scared and decided it was time to for her son to get out of that environment. So, she sent him across the country to live with her sister and her sister’s husband plus their three children in the wealthy Los Angeles neighborhood of Bel Air, California. His name was Will Smith.
