SBTB Geek 09-08-2002, 10:02 PM Yeah... the show does look okay. I think UPN is doing a great job in trying to improve their line-up. sweetflava 09-27-2002, 09:43 PM I agree so far this show is alright but I miss the "Hugleys". I guess we will see how well it does. TVFactFan 09-29-2002, 10:58 AM Originally posted by Sitcomwriter This show looks ok I guess but I won't go out of my way to watch it! I think they should have chose another female-the one who played in smart guy is okay but the other i'm not really sold on-she looks 12 years older than the other sister sheisgorgeous21 10-22-2002, 01:06 AM I totally disagree with you Solomon. I think that Mona is a very pretty young lady. I just wish they didn't portray her in such a negative way. I actually think she more attractive than Dee-Dee. Overall, I think it is a pretty good show. :) isiahthomas 11-02-2002, 07:42 PM This show is garbage & i ain't watching it anymore. I do like Mona who is played by Rachel True, she's a cutie. I wonder why she talks like a white girl. Rachel True played in the movie CB4 as Chris Rock's girl for those who don't remember. Essence Atkins who plays Dee-Dee on the show is cute as well & she was in the movie How High as Redman's girl. Mona's guy friend needs to hook up with her. isiahthomas 11-02-2002, 07:43 PM I forgot to say the guy who plays Mona's father was also in the movie How High with Essence Atkins as the dean of the college that Redman & Method Man went to. realchic1999 11-04-2003, 07:06 PM I have gotta put my two cents in here. I think they should have chose another female-the one who played in smart guy is okay but the other i'm not really sold on-she looks 12 years older than the other sister Rachel True may be in her late 30s, but I think she looks really good for her age. And I think Essence is in her 30s, as well. I do like Mona who is played by Rachel True, she's a cutie. I wonder why she talks like a white girl. Rachel is half-white...but regardless of that fact, what is "talking white"? Because someone isn't using Ebonics and acting "ghetto," that makes her less of a black woman? I am glad to see someone on TV that isn't a walking stereotype...there's too much of that as it is. marvin g 11-04-2003, 10:50 PM I think Rachel does a fine job playing Mona and I like the sound of her voice. What I have a problem with in terms of the way she talks in relation to the show is that her mother talks like a black woman but Phyllis' mother is jewish which I totally don't understand!! realchic1999 11-05-2003, 08:05 PM People don't necessarily talk in the way they were raised. It's all about growing up, and finding one's own identity and niche in life. ms skee-wee 11-12-2003, 02:11 AM Let's not be stupid, you know what he means when he says she talks white, not her word choice nor grammer!!!Duhhhhhhhhh, wake up he means the inflection in her voice. It is sad you lowered your self to thinking if he says she talks white, she uses better grammer than if she talked "black". Two people can say the exact same words, and depending on their inflection, you can guess who is white and who is black. realchic1999 11-14-2003, 06:52 PM Originally posted by ms skee-wee Let's not be stupid, you know what he means when he says she talks white, not her word choice nor grammer!!!Duhhhhhhhhh, wake up he means the inflection in her voice.
