I just discovered that Blossom Rock (Grandmama) appeared in two Our Gang Comedy Shorts in 1938 and 1939. She was credited by the name Marie Blake then. She plays Alfalfa's aunt in one short and Butch's mother in another. I would have never, ever recognized her, except for her voice. Of course on The Addams Family she was heavily made-up in costume, and these shorts were produced 30 years earlier.

I wonder why she went by two different stage names. :confused:

Blossom was also the sister of actress/singer Jeanette MacDonald.

She was born Edith Marie Blossom MacDonald, and was the OLDER sister of Jeanette MacDonald. So Rock comes from her husband, don't know how Blake fits in, unless she had a first husband named "Blake". At any rate, she sure had alot of names!:lol:

Being a fan of "The Little Rascals" I was surprised to discover that fact when I purchased the Maltin-Bann book. Her appearances were after MGM bought Hal Roach out.
