It did seem like Van and Cheyenne were the center of attention because they were married and had Elizabeth, and Jake who still needed to be cared for. For example, when everyone was raising money so Kyra could study abroad, Van and Cheyenne forgot to pay for daycare so the money had to be used for them.

^^^ It wasn't because Van and Cheyanne didn't pay for day care. Cheyanne cut a class that needed to remain on her schedule because not going to it kept her from being a full-time student which is what made her lose Elizabeth's spot at the daycare place. The only way to keep the daycare spot was if Cheyanne took a summer class which is what the money for Kyra's trip ended up going to instead.

P.S. To answer what you ask, I don't blame Kyra for leaving and what Brock said was true when he said that anything concerning Kyra was always last on the priority list when she was at Reba's house and so maybe going to her dad's place gave her a better shot at being a kid again before she wasn't one anymore.
