In Christian music there are some bands that are good and some that have staying power for years to come. One of the most popular Christian rock bands was Petra and they were known as one of the top Christian rock bands in the 70's 80's and 90's and continued to be one of the best kept secrets of Christian rock. I discovered Petra through their 90's hit Right Place and was amazed at their rock sound and the song Right Place is from their 1997 album which also featured Lou Gramm from Foreigner as one of the members of Petra and I didn't even know that Lou Gramm was even in Petra in the 90's and that was surprising to know

Petra during the 80's was not a "best kept secret" in CCM, they were in fact one of the top bands out there until the mid-90's. I need to look up to see if Lou Gramm of Foreigner was in the band in the late 90's, but I do know that Jon Schlitt, formerly of Head East, replaced Greg X. Volz in 1986.
