On Catchy Comedy binge this weekend they showed My three Sons . I started watching about 10 AM Saturday getting ready for work and they weren't showing early episodes at all! I was surprised ! I thought even if they didn't show the Bub/ Mike really old eps. They would still start with fairly early eps.;)

When I got home from work , Steve was already set to marry Barbara! And all through Sunday the very late season eps. with Chip and Polly married and the triplets already as little boys , not babies anymore !

I like them all, old and new. But just wondering why they started so late into the series? Maybe they were the only seasons Catchy Comedy has the rights too?

Anyone else watch the M3S binge this weekend?

Catchy's predecessor Decades also featured color episodes back when they did their My Three Sons "Weekend Binge." I don't think I ever saw any b & w eps from earlier seasons on Decades.

I saw which seasons were featured this time, although I didn't watch too much because I've viewed most of those episodes many, many times.

I believe they began with Season 9, around Episode 21 "Goodbye Forever" (Feb. 1969). In that episode, Ernie's pal Gordon Dearing is moving away. (Gordon is played by Butch Patrick, "Eddie Munster," who looks totally different with long hair...!)

Here's a quick rundown of the later seasons:
Season 9 (1968-69) - The triplets are born this season
Season 10 (1969-70) - Steve marries Barbara; Dodie intro
Season 11 (1970-71) - Chip marries Polly
Season 12 (1971-72 - final season) - Rob is no longer home

With hundreds of episodes overall, it may have just been a case of fitting in all of the later seasons -- if it wasn't a rights issue to start any earlier.

They may be afraid of losing viewers, showing the b/w episodes. It's one thing showing them at 6:30 am on MeTV, it's another trying to maximize viewers for a weekend marathon.

Well as interesting as the Binge was, I hardly watched at all, because of the horrible film quality.

Oh and BTW was MacMurray’s voice dubbed for his Scottish doppelgänger? That really was weird. Couldn’t Fred do his own brogue?

The voice of Fergus was dubbed by Alan Caillou. I believe that had been the case as well when Fergus was introduced in one of the black & white seasons.

The prints shown from Season 12 were not good, but we've not had any true restoration of those episodes regardless of which channel aired them. I think there have been attempts to dial up the color intensity, but it's still been putting lipstick on a pig. A shame really.

I agree, the film quality was awful. The sound quality was worse. I couldn't even understand a lot of the dialogue. I gave up after four or five episodes.
