View Full Version : All Football!
Remember such days like the classic CBS Saturday night sitcom lineup? If we go with that there are still 5 "old school" networks around (CBS, NBC, FOX, ABC, CW) tonight all of them have a college football game. Some of them always do in the college season, but this is the first night I can think of that ALL of them do in primetime.
Great, right?
It's all football, all the time!
How it started:
CBS Fall 1973 - September 15, 1973

How it's going:
September 9, 2023
Charles Knox 09-09-2023, 01:57 PM With writers and actors still on strike, the networks will counter by programing more football games into the Fall schedule.

This isn’t really a sports thread. The basic idea here is how network scheduling has changed from what it used to be leading to 5 games on tonight. I think TJ gets that. Sorry it went over your head.
MRPITT 09-10-2023, 10:25 AM Love Football. More please.
TSMIV 09-10-2023, 12:11 PM Before football season, the Saturday night line-ups were far worse. There hasn't been anything worth watching on Saturday in about 20 years.
scotchnh2o 09-10-2023, 12:27 PM I've really been enjoying ON PATROL LIVE on REELZ-TV
Fri. & Sat. from 9-12 ET.

I thought every Saturday night you went out clubbing?
only if you are lucky enough to have an affiliate
I get Catchy if I use an antenna. Do you get ESPN? I’ll trade you my Catchy for your ESPN. I’ll even throw in another network to be named later.

Yes. It's a deal.
Nevermind. Charter and Disney adulted up today and I got my channels back. It looks like I perma lost Freeform, FXX, Disney Junior, Disney XD, and Nat Geo Wild in the settlement, which will upset alot of people, but selfishly, I'm not one of them, so I don't care. I may or may not get free Disney+ out of this, don't really know yet if my package will include that.
So I think I'll hang on to Catchy in case they wise up and start showing Sydney :)

I think so but I am a college football fanatic.
Just saying but most cable/satellite systems have many channels to watch. Not to say that there will be anything on that you may like. But the days of four networks only is long dead.
For me, I use YouTube for one source of entertainment. I adore YouTube. It just has almost everything. It’s the Google of videos and there are a lot of TV shows on it.
There are websites out there that have damn near any TV show you might want to watch at your convenience. I use www.watchseries.id . Now when you find your show, and touch the screen, it will open a window for an advertisement, just “x” the advertisement and touch the screen again, which will go to an advertisement, you have to play this game for a minute before the video starts but it will start and it is wonderful, and it has a huge library of movies and TV shows from the 1950’s to now. Netflix? No problem. Anything, no problem. I live in China, this is how I watch TV.
I have an iPad where I watch my shows. But if you feel the need to watch a literal television, there are hookups for that.
It’s the 21st Century!
Tonight you once again have your pick of five college football games across the broadcast networks.

This Saturday 4 out of 5 have games.
For today’s look at a Saturday schedule from the good old days of yore, let’s go back in time to that classic Saturday night of May 28, 1994, when NBC proudly burned off the final two episodes of Cafe Americain.
