after being convicted of sexual assault. Being a Hollywood star actually did not get him preferential treatment, Danny will probably have his royalties from reruns taken away as well.

Amidst Danny Masterson sentencing, Laura Prepon comes under fire for her silence on the matter (https://www.sportskeeda.com/pop-culture/news-amidst-danny-masterson-sentencing-laura-prepon-comes-underfire-silence-matter)

A jury of seven females and five males declared Masterson guilty of two charges of r*pe on May 31. Both incidents occurred in his house in the Hollywood region in 2003, when Masterson was most well-known for the Fox series That '70s Show.

Fans were aware that Laura Prepon (https://www.lipstickalley.com/threads/topher-grace%E2%80%99s-wife-ashley-hinshaw-supports-rape-victims-after-danny-masterson-sentencing-%E2%80%98i-see-you%E2%80%99.5378719/post-95454419) and Danny Masterson were very close at one point because she was dating the convicted actor's brother. They believe that she turned a blind eye to Danny Masterson's crimes and even silenced the victims of s*xual a*sault under the shadow of Scientology.

Scientology is a set of beliefs created by an American author named L. Ron Hubbard. Its followers are extremely loyal to its teachings, however, it is infamous for some sinister reasons. Scientology has often been tagged as a cult/business/a new religious movement and has been subjected to several controversies.

However, there is no possible way to prove if this is true or false at this point, but netizens expect Prepon to come forward and address the issue.

Prepon began practicing Scientology in 1999, the year she began dating Christopher Masterson. However, in 2021 she revealed that she hadn't practiced it since 2016. In fact, she explained that she had she was not a practitioner anymore.

Laura Prepon is married to Ben Foster and has a boy and a girl. As for Danny Masterson, he is not going to get out of jail till at least 2053. He has been married to actress Bijou Phillips since 2011, with whom he has one kid.

Apparently, the character of Steven Hyde has become a “non-person” (from George Orwell’s famous novel, “1984”) on the T7S sequel series.

I wish they'd just recast him rather than ignore him. Steven was really important to the series, and it's not the character's fault that his actor ended up being a criminal.

Disclosure, I have not followed the trial. But I know the accusations were from
2001 and 2003, over twenty years ago. I for one believe that an accusation of a crime should be reported within a reasonable amount of time, less than a year not twenty plus years, and also the accusation should be backed up by physical evidence. Did the accusers have physical evidence?

I mean, how would you like if someone from your distant past came out of nowhere and accused you of something like this? I am sort of surprised Masterson was convicted since again the charges are over twenty years old.

I couldn’t imagine being Masterson now. From being a fairly wealthy TV actor to spending literally the next three decades in a state prison. You just know the guy is going to be extorted and abused and he knows absolutely nothing about how prisons work. Being in a small cement cell the size of a closet with a stranger who you get to see use the toilet multiple times a day plus maneuver life outside the cell so not to get tricked out, extorted (and he will be) or even harmed or killed. Over some twenty year old probably bullsh.r accusations.

A woman scorned is a powerful thing.

I would be suicidal over the thought of spending that many years in prison, regardless of what age I was/am at the time of sentencing.

He was tried twice because of a hung jury. The vote for the first jury was 11 not guilty to 1 guilty! Most district attorneys would not have pursued a second trial with those results. I'm not a fan of the guy-I don't really know anything about him, but this whole case is bizarre and the media is obviously scared to report on it.

I am also curious to know how he was convicted without direct evidence. Was video or audio evidence presented in the trial?

I don't believe there was any physical evidence or video, all 'witness' based. I've looked into this, the reason the accusers did not come forward decades ago was all due to Scientology -- they belonged to it -- which was a complex crock of **** that prohibited them -- actually "forbid" them -- from going directly to the police etc. There was "victim shaming" and harassment. Some claim Masterson preyed on these women because he knew they too were Scientologists and thus unable to report the rapes & get the authorities to go after him.

Shockingly or not, the Scientology "church" actually knew about the accusations -- it was a cover-up. This thing is blowing the lid off of the whole process, people who tried to pursue justice had their houses broken into, for example.

The sentence had been as much as "45 years to life," apparently 15+15+15, with one of those taken off as ultimately there were 2 actual of 3 possible convictions.

No offense to anyone reading this, but I believe Scientology is a tremendously damaging cult and the truth needs to come out so more people become aware of what it really is. Scientology policies override laws and even promote the members using falsehoods if necessary in their total control of them. This whole trial of its member (Masterson) & outcome in a way relates to the cult policies colliding with the U.S. justice system.

I disagree. When Bill Cosby got into trouble his box set of the Cosby Show was selling for only $5 and any and all reruns were pulled from the schedule. People don’t forget.

People don’t forget.Reruns came back awhile ago, TVOne airs The Cosby Show from 6-8PM weeknights, so it must still do well for them. Also, Danny Masterson is just a supporting actor on That 70s Show, unlike Bill Cosby who was the lead actor. That 70s Show remains in primetime from 9-11PM on LAFF's new fall schedule that starts Monday.

It’s not just Masterson that is in trouble of being cancelled, but also Kutcher and Kinis for supporting him.

I think you are wrong about locked in a closet size cell ...

I have worked in the prison system, only violent felons are in lock up, the rest of the population are treated like high school students with DAILY passes going to the library/woodworking/ auto shop/ kitchen/laundry and are just locked down at night +-

Danny Masterson seeks to overturn his rape convictions (https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2024-12-19/danny-masterson-former-that-70s-show-star-seeks-to-overturn-rape-convictions)

The former That 70s Show star, who was found guilty of raping two women in the early 2000s, alleges in a new filing that he didn't receive a fair trial because "key witness testimonies changed over time, that the court excluded significant exculpatory evidence and that judicial rulings skewed the jury’s view of the evidence against Masterson," according to the Los Angeles Times.

Danny Masterson's Diet In Prison Is More Disgusting Than We Expected (https://www.nickiswift.com/1884291/danny-masterson-diet-prison-disgusting/)

Danny Masterson is serving 30 years to life behind bars, and while the prison feeds him three meals a day, he's mostly living on items he's purchasing himself.
