Did anyone ever notice that janet was the only cast member to talk to chrissy on the phone? Jack or Cindy never talked to chrissy on the phone and you would have thought that Cindy would have talked to Chrissy since they were cousins. I wonder why that was? Is it that john ritter didn't want to do the phone scences? I just found that a bit shockin since jack was the star of the show. Every time chrissy called it was always janet who answered the phone.

Yes Jack did. Nick @ Nite and TNN didn't show that scene though.

Well that's news to me because I never seen Jack talk to her on the phone-Was it a tag scence at the end or in the middle of the episode?

N@N shows only 3 of the Chrissy calls, I believe there were quite a few because they were filmed until Febuary of 1981 at least from what I've read. The syndicators for local stations and whoever cuts up N@N's episodes must've decided they weren't important to the plot.

I know for a fact that I never seen Jack talk to her over the phone-so N@N must have cut up a lot of footage.

I saw jack 4 times i know of that he talked with chrissy on the phone... It would be at the end of the show...But your right about Cindy she never talked to chrissy on the phone and you would have thought that Cindy would have talked to Chrissy her cousin.

So these scences with Jack must only be shown on N@N and no other station because iall i ever saw was janet. Well i will be on the lookout when N@N starts showing the Cindy episodes again.

Nick at Nite does not air the Jack ones. N@N and TNN both air the same version of the episodes, nothing is added or taken away on TNN.

See that 's what i figured because i know for a fact since N@N has been showing Three's company, I never seen Jack on the phone at all-Someone mentioned that N@N showed Jack on the phone but i know i never seen it-Have you seen clips of jack on the phone and if so what station was it?

No stations show the tags in the U.S. only Nick @ Nite and TNN do. Some of the tags have not been seen since the original ABC airings here in the U.S. International countries get the episodes uncut, except for Canada. I have a tag with Jack talking to Chrissy.

So when Chrissy absence during the Fall of 1980, was she on the phone at the end of every episode when it aired on ABC or was it just certain episodes?

I wonder if the viewing public knew about what was going on behind the scences at the start of 1980-81 season

Yes, they did. It was covered in many entertainment magazines. Word first really broke out I believe around the time Suzanne missed her second or third taping of the season.

Suzanne Somers firing was big news back in 1980.

The reason you do not see Jack on the phone with Chrissy, is John Ritter was so angry at Suzanne, he refused to do any scenes with her.

I am 99.9% sure that Jack was never on the phone with Chrissy, only Janet was.

In Suzanne's last episodes with Three's Company, she was segregated from the rest of the cast.

No Jack did answer a call from Chrissy. Suzanne's phone tags scenes were taped well after the show was actually taped. You think that phone call was real, lol?

We will just have to disagree.

Don't understand you LOL comment. Sounds like you were taking a pot shot at me.

Three's Company is a show I grew up with. I'm sure Jack didn't take a phone call from Chrissy, but if I disagreed with someone, I wouldn't make a comment attacking them.

I will check your profile. You are probably a much younger poster.

I have a tag with Jack talking to Chrissy on tape. That 'lol' comment was the truth, the Suzanne scenes were not shot during the actual episode.

Yeah, they were taped before or after the episodes when no one from the rest of the cast was present. Suzanne had no audience except for some stage hands and director Dave Powers. During the actual taping of the episodes Carol Summers, one of the people who worked on the show, would talk on the phone instead of Suzanne. I believe I've read elsewhere that John did at least one tag with the Chrissy calls.

It also had nothing to do who was mad at each other. Obviously Joyce was upset too, not just John. So it had nothing to do with John only doing a few phone tags (I think just one) with Chrissy.

Okay, this is what I am guessing; these episodes cut out the Chrissy tags:
1. Make Room for Daddy
2. Father of the Bride.
3. Teacher's Pet
4. Night of the Ropers
5. Double Trouble
These don't show the tags. I pay very attention to the cuts on these shows. You know how a scene transitions. Pay attention to the speed of the transition. Listen to see if the audience laughs through the transition. If the laugh stops abruptly, then it has been cut. Example: I have the New Landlord uncut. On Nick at Nite, there is a transition where Jack gets the idea to invite Lana over for dinner with Furley. Then it shows the two in the bedroom conversing. In the unedited version, it shows Furley flipping out that Lana is a minute late. When Lana comes, Jack motions for her to come into the bedroom, and she gets excited. It procedes with Jack conversing with her as on Nick at Nite.

Another way to see is the fades. When the show starts, we see it on N@N like they have started in the middle of the conversation. That's because they have. "No Children, No Pets" on N@N starts out with Janet asking, "Youre anniversary?" Well, it has been cut where Mrs. Roper invites her in and hints to Janet about the anniversary before Janet asks.

Well, in "Make Room for Daddy," first time viewers assume that when that second commercial seen where Jack is left dumbfounded in that bar, we are seeing the tag. Is a tag generally five or six minutes long? Well, if the fade is fast, the black screen is light, when the original commercial fade kind of slows and the screen is a darker black. When Janet dumps the water all over Jack, the screen fades real fast, then the "Directed by Dave Powers" credit appears. That has given me an indication that the original tag has been cut, and that was a Chrissy call. Or when they show the second commercial before cutting to the rolling credits. The first Season did not show tags. Nick at Nite puts in a second commercial and makes it look like a tag. I have two first season episodes where there is only one commercial transition uncut on video from Threescompany.com. If anybody is confused, then tape them and play these particular ones back with slow motion. I think sometimes that the audience clapping, which is a general indication that a commercial is approaching, has been dubbed in on some parts for new commercials.

I found out that N@N cut out a tag scene from the episode-Terri Makes her Moves-the scene is when janet is sittig on the couch with her legs strecthed out and jack was standing behind the couch with a cup of juice and when terri came out of the room with her violin in a sexy nighty-Jack says-"OH MY GOD" and spills the juice on janet-do you remeber that one?

You bet I do. I have that one uncut! That scene was hilarious, and I do remember it being cut on N@N. Tell me something, did you ever watch it a long time ago on TBS? I remember seeing the whole sequence in A-Camping we will Go in which Jack falls off the hammock. It shows only a part of it on N@N. I have the whole episode uncut as well.

I got a lot of uncut episodes recently, and these are the episodes that Chrissy calls home in:
A CROWDED ROMANCE (Janet talks to her, but Chrissy isn't seen or heard)
ROOM AT THE BOTTOM
JACK TO THE RESCUE (Chrissy calls Janet about a horrible dream)
JACK'S OTHER MOTHER (Chrissy calls collect and asks Janet to have Jack answer next time)
MAKE ROOM FOR DADDY (Chrissy calls Jack and about some news in a letter she wrote home, and then stops her dad from mailing it)
FATHER OF THE BRIDE (Chrissy calls Janet. Janet tells the confusing story of the rich man harassing Cindy, and Chrissy is insulted that she wasn't even invited to the wedding.)
IN LIKE LARRY (Chrissy calls Janet, thinking that she was calling someone else)
AND BABY MAKES FOUR (Chrissy and Janet chat about thinking Cindy was pregnant)
That's all of the calls Chrissy made in year five. Some of the other tags include:
TEACHER'S PET (Janet cooks a meal that she learned in Jack's class, and it turns out to be better than Jack's)
NIGHT OF THE ROPERS (Roper swears he'll get revenge on Jack for getting him and Mrs. Roper back together)
DOUBLE TROUBLE (Janet doesn't want to remind Jack not to leave the toilet seat up. He reminds her that it was Austin).
DYING TO MEET YOU (Jack asks to sleep in the girls' roomafter that frightening experience with Max. He almost succeeds, but the girls decide to sleep in Jack's room)
THE CASE OF THE MISSING BLONDE (After the whole incident with Cindy disappearing, Janet has posted a signout sheet by the door. Jack puts down that he's going crazy living with the girls.)
