Report: Max currently doesn't have the technology to interrupt shows and movies with CNN Max breaking news alerts (https://www.indiewire.com/news/breaking-news/cnn-breaking-news-alerts-max-1234901213/)

But before you (and we) freak, a source close to Perrette told IndieWire that Max currently doesn't have the technology to do this.

Potentially the capability of interrupting streaming shows with breaking news you don't want. The cable channels don't even do this. Just another reason to dislike streaming.

And you will probably have to search under 4 or 5 submenus just to turn off the alerts.

The average younger person (40 and under) has a phone which is a constant companion, any news alert is already delivered over that device making this nothing more than a redundancy.

Just a sneaky way to promote the CNN brand.

If it weren't for airports and doctor's offices, no one would be watching CNN.
