LeVar Burton is in the final stages of a deal to host and executive produce a TV adaptation of the popular board game Trivial Pursuit. The 66-year-old entertainer, who was among the stars who tried out to host Jeopardy! after the death of Alex Trebek, will also be an executive producer on the show, Deadline reported.

Great. I'll definitely watch it. I'm a fan of LeVar Burton's, and we coincidentally share the same birthdate, different years though.

The CW has handed series orders to "Trivial Pursuit" and "Scrabble", new game shows based on the classic Hasbro board games.

LeVar Burton, however, was not mentioned in the press release as its host and EP. Reps for Burton and The CW declined comment, although multiple sources close to the production confirm that he remains in active negotiations to headline and EP the show.

The CW has renewed "Scrabble" for a 30-episode second season and has recruited Craig Ferguson to take over Raven-Symoné as host.

"Trivial Pursuit", hosted by LeVar Burton, has also been picked up for 30-episode second season. Both will return in 2026 and are produced by Hasbro Entertainment alongside Lionsgate Alternative Television, with Mattel Television Studios co-producing Scrabble.

Season 2 of "Trivial Pursuit" premieres Thursday, Jan. 22nd at 9pm.

It follows the 8pm Season 2 launch of "Scrabble".
