View Full Version : Left-Handed or Right-Handed/Agree or Disagree?
Iliveforjayandnancy 09-06-2002, 02:40 PM I was wondering if Nancy McKeon is right-handed or left-handed. In both the Division and A Mother's Gift, she writes with her right hand. But in My Sister's Shadow when she is sitting on the couch, she does mostly everything with her left hand. Like she was eating out of the chinese container with her left hand, and then when Micheal called she answered the phone with her left hand also. Now being left-handed myself, I know that which ever hand you write with is the one you usually do the most with. So maybe in The Division and A Mother's Gift they wanted her to write with her right hand for some reason even if she's left-handed. In which case, she would have to be even more talented to write with the hand she's not used to writing with, and that would make her ampidextrious (writes with both left and right hands) and that is a very rare quality. Which would just add to her HUGE list of accomplishments. I mean think about it. All the episodes of Facts of Life, all the episodes of The Division, her apperance on Starsky and Hutch, apperance on Loveboat, PLUS all her movies and sitcoms in between I.E. A Mother's Gift, Sister's Shadow, Maffia Marriage, Tracy Thurman story, Strange Voices, Wrong Woman, This Child is Mine, Touched by an Angel, and ALL THE OTHERS I can't think of. I mean really. She must be one HELL of a person to be able to appear on ALL of them shows and having to fly to different states sometimes to do them. PLUS, she must have been drained doing movies like Tracy Thurman and Strange Voice's and Maffia Marriage which I'm sure took alot out of her, having to act so strongly and cry so much. Does anyone agree? Disagree?
P.S. Studies prove left-handed people are smarter then right-handed people! HAHA Which are you? But it's ok *taps everyone's shoulder whether left-handed or right-handed* It's ok I love ya'll! lol
*Marilyn Monroe* 09-06-2002, 03:30 PM I do agree with you that Nancy is an extremely talented person, but I've never thought about which hand she writes with.
BTW...you might get more of a reply if you posted this on the main mb.

Good questions.... *Jeopardy Music Plays*....... lol Actually if you want replies and so it's not off topic you could post it on The Division Main Message Board.
I'm ambidextrious myself. I can write with either... Although I throw and cut scissors etc with my right hand- I mostly write with my left.
I'm gifted..... Yay. lol

Yeah, I totally read that like you throw scissors and also cut with them, LOL. I understood eventually.
It's entirely possible Nancy's ambidexterous. (b not p) She also used her left hand in an Afterschool Special she was in.

I think that was cuz of the camera angle, so that you could tell she was writing.

I would have to say it doesn't matter which way you write. Because I for one am right handed and I am 4th in my class in training with a 95%. So that blows your theory out of the water cause the top 5 in our class are all right handed. Besides I will match my brain power against yours anytime Ang.
BonniesLilCutiePie 09-06-2002, 10:24 PM I don't think being smart has to do with what hand you use.I think it has to do with how much brain power you have!
Iliveforjayandnancy 09-07-2002, 01:07 AM Thanks for all the posts guys, and the pic. I never realized that she used her left hand in another show as well. So maybe that just proves my thought that she uses both hands. Because it sure seems that way. And yes, bonnielilcutiepie, it DOES have to do with brain power. I agree. And I wasn't trying to offend you if I did, I was just saying that I've heard studies that we're taken have proved that left-handed people are smarter then right-handed people, because they use both sides of there brain, as opposed to only the right side of right-handed people.

Well I am right handed but I use both sides of my brain.
NancyFan 09-07-2002, 12:45 PM Everyone uses both sides of their brain. It's just that right-handed people are more in tune with the left side, and left-handed people are more in tune with the right side. So, that makes them good at different things.
Left-handed people tend to be more artistic and creative, and right-handed people are better at logic and problem-solving, but there are ALWAYS going to be exceptions to the rule. I'm left-handed, and I excel at math and problem-solving, and I know right-handed people who are brilliant dancers and musicians.
It's not what a study says, it's what you do with your brain. :)
BonniesLilCutiePie 09-07-2002, 03:41 PM That's what aI meant! I think ;)
#1fan 09-07-2002, 10:43 PM Im left handed...and I dunno...im a musician and I guess im pretty smart...haha...anyways...yeah im left handed

BonniesLilCutiePie 09-07-2002, 11:56 PM I guess I need to red more carefully. Don't I?
#1fan 09-07-2002, 11:58 PM Maybe...sometimes reading carefully works...
chrissya 09-08-2002, 07:15 AM I happen to be able to use ethier hand for most things. Although writeing left handed did not come naturally It was forceably taught. When I was a small child since I did everything but, write with my left hand someone metioned trying to teach me to write with it so since I had been writeing since the age of three my parents went for it when I was in Pre school. I still have an obvious perferance to my right hand to write with but pretty much everything else irs done left handed. As far as intelect handedness dosen't play a part . It is just that one side of the brain learns diffently than the other and thus some people who are right handed maybe rightbrained and learn and be drawn to those type of things and vice verse also you have thosse who's brains seem to be crosswried and can learn and do things in the atypical style ofboth areas. AS far as acutal IQ is concern it dosent matter becoue at 21/2 I was reading the news paperand i am not ashamed to tell you i have a very high IQ, one that is way over a hundred. It is more in the rangwe of between 120and150. This is despite my inabilty to spell.
Nancy Mckeon verywell may have the abilty to use ethier hand . Is she does she may like to do what I do sometime, she may like eo use ethier hand jusr ro keep people guessing.
BonniesLilCutiePie 09-08-2002, 02:14 PM I promise to try to read things more carefully. I guess I just skimmed it over. ;)
