I've been watching AITF reruns for the first time in years, on Pluto TV.
One thing I'm kind of curious about, is if Archie's stubborn attitude and temper blow ups may have been caused by Mike and Gloria having to stay in the Bunker household. Because after they move out, Archie becomes a lot more relaxed and chill is a pretty much a totally different person.
Just a random thought.

I'm sure Mike contributed to it, although, I noticed Archie got a little more chilled toward the end of the series, I dunno if it had to do with Mike and Gloria being out of the house or not. Edith also started standing up for herself more

One intentional habit that they had Mike doing over and over was for him to walk and try to stand in Archie's personal space within 30 seconds of Archie walking into the living room. You would think Mike would know better but Mike tries to get into Archie's face just Archie is about to sit down. It's kind of a plot device to build tension in the room.

The thing I find funniest is when a tiny disagreement becomes a source of conflict, like whether Mike should put mustard on his pretzel. Even though Mike and Archie both get excited to eat the pretzels, the matter blows up: "Don't let me see you do that to a pretzel no more!!"

A similar situation happened when Archie discovered Mike putting on his first shoe before his second sock (shoe/sock/shoe/sock) instead of both socks before either shoe. Archie said something similar to Mike at the end of the scene, pretty much telling Mike never to do that again.

Mike Stivic was a world class moocher. Archie and Edith were much better off when that shameless schnorrer moved out of the house.
