View Full Version : How come Janet or Terri never made a guest appearance on Three's a Crowd
TVFactFan 09-05-2002, 06:58 PM I always found it odd that Janet or Terri never made a guest appearance on Three's A Crowd-especially during the first 10 episodes, that would have helped the ratings. But here is what the producers did to boost the ratings, they have Larry appear on a episode and that wasn'tuntil the second season. Very poor decision by the producers to not have janet or terri visit jack and his new wife "Vicky"
Sean Snow 09-05-2002, 07:16 PM First of all, a) "Three's a Crowd" ran one season. "The Ropers" was the TC spinoff that ran two seasons. b) Jack and Vicki were never married on the show.
Joyce DeWitt was going on a spritual journey at the time and I believe was offered roles in other shows which she turned down.
Priscilla Barnes did not like being on TC. While she was on it she tried to get out of her contract, but couldn't. I doubt she would do anything with the TC producers after finally getting away from them.
Richard Kline was asked to be on TAC, but he declined, instead opting to do a pilot for CBS called "His & Hers". H&H was not picked up as a series. Maybe if TAC had lasted longer, Richard would've become a regular castmember.
Don Knotts just wasn't on it for some reason. Probably wasn't asked. They should've had Jack going back to the apartment in an episode of TAC and remembering Janet, Terri, Chrissy, Cindy, and the Ropers. Too bad they nevre did an episode like that.

You said that Richrad Kline declined to be on TAC-you mean he declined as a reguar cast member? Because he did appear as a guest star but it wouldn't have made since anyway because Jack Had a different type of lifestyle and was not a single guy anymore so it would have been strange to see a lot of Larry. And you also said that Jack shoud have went back to the old apt to remember the girls-Why would he have gone back to a empty apt??_remember no one was living there and if there was wouldn't there have been different people in the apt????
Brian Damage 09-05-2002, 07:33 PM Even if Janet, Chrissy, The Ropers, Mr. Furley, Terri and whomever else appeared on the show, it would only be a temporary fix. The fact is Three's A Crowd was not that good of a show. I also think many 3's Company fans were upset that Jack and Janet never ended up together. Cameos cannot save a show, good writing does.

Yeah you are right-good writing does save a show but i was a little surprised to see that Larry was the only cast member from three's company to make a guest appearance. We all know it wouldn't have made sense to have Mr. furley on TAC but like i said atleast janet-someone who was with jack from day one

Wasn't Richard Kline on an episode of TAC. I think he was on "Deeds Of Trust". Greedy Gretchen also...

There was no way for the Ropers to appear on Three's A Crowd because there were no longer cast members of Three's Company once the show ended. They could have made another appearance on Three's Company after they met mr. furley-that episode was on TNN this morning.
