There are hotels that dont offer TV in their rooms. And this could be a beginning of a new trend.

Some owners think that their guests much rather would enjoy the breath-taking views from their bedroom. Others think that rooms without TV promote deep rest.

Many hotels now offer complimentary in-room Wi-Fi (in public spaces) so there is ample opportunity to watch content in the comfort of your room without a TV.

However, observations from hoteliers on guest behaviour suggests content consumption isnt as commonplace as you might expect.

I used to like watching TV in a hotel room when it was a CRT SET.. Now I could care less as I do not like these flatscreen things........

I don't watch at home, no need in a hotel room.

I didn't even turn the hotel room TV on during the times I've stood at them in more recent years.

I can get everything I need through my phone.

I’m 50/50 accurate but sometimes it’s impossible for me to rent a hotel room without a television set

I was going to ask if the room offers Wifi, which is better than TV. But if I am on vacation, the room is only for sleeping anyway.

Yeah you're using Wifi to get on the computer, the phone etc. Wifi isn't polluting the air.....

I'd prefer a room with a TV, even though I have my phone and the internet. Still I want a TV. Only way would be if I was just stopping road side ,exhausted from too much driving and only needed a shower and to sleep.

A hotel room without TV reminds me of that old , run down rickety cabin in the California road trip on I Love Lucy .

Yes, good point! I want a TV, and preferably a room that's not next to a railroad track or a loud tomcat.

Some hotel rooms have the TV's behind cabinets, so it's pretty much like it's not there unless you open the doors.

I wonder if there any active hotels still with CRTs :)
