I have been thinking about posting at this constant use of Hate, but will now do a post. For a group of Sitcomers with happy happy talk and great entertainment posts and Music, omg goodness, the good stuff flows. BUT
the constant Hate for so many reasons, unbelievable.

Anyone else see this, does it bother anyone else....there is a LOT I don't like or care for, but Hate......nope.

One good lesson from my parents, don't use the word.:eek:

It's just an expression, I'm not a linguistic literalist so it doesn't really bother me.... Much like when someone says they LOVE something.. like "I LOVE pizza" or "I LOVE football!" I doubt they actually have true feelings for those things as we traditional define the word

What gets on my nerves are new TRENDY words that people use and OVERUSE constantly... I know I sound old, but hearing Gen Z'er describe something as "CRINGE" a million times makes me literally wanna cringe

It's a word, a strong negative emotion and I've done enough work with words and know that is spoken over and over is manifested...All the haters in the world......I'm not big on overusing Love, but Love is far far more positive than "H"......

If you live in Haight-Ashbury you have to use it.

I heard they're renaming that old Heath Ledger movie to 10 Things I Don't Really Care For About You.

I wouldn't be surprised. People were starting to criticize Santa's "ho ho ho!" But, in the back of my mind, I knew that Santa's ho ho ho might one day be criticized.

Ironic huh, cause " The Haight" was the center of the " Summer of Love" !!':D

Coincidentally I'd been thinking about this subject. My head throbbed this week from the deafening reverberating noise coming from the stadium near my house - I had to shut my doors despite the cool breezes. So I do hate it when noise ordinances are never enforced.

But the word at times can lose its strength from overuse. Too often people say they either love or hate something (or someone). The reality oftentimes lies somewhere in between.

Interestingly for me, on another forum I frequent, I was using the word hate a lot. It was in reference to a fictional t.v. show though, not towards real people. Some person flipped out and said me overusing the word implied I was desecrating the show. How the heck can I desecrate fictional characters? That was strange. But in real life, I do try to cut back on the word. Sometimes, I even correct myself if I use it. So I might think Oh, I really HATE that and then I'll tell myself, I mean I strongly dislike that, or I'd prefer it not happening. Something about the word hate is damaging.

Have you ever paid a visit there since you moved out west? I bet Abbie Hoffman spent some time there.

No believe it or not, I've not yet been to San Francisco. Northern California I've been to Lake Tahoe, Monterey, Carmel by the sea ( Clint Eastwood was mayor here at one time) . Big Sur. And Central California , Fresno and Bakersfield. And south San Diego . Oh and also Palm Springs . Always wanted to go to San Francisco, but never did . IDK why?

Bonnie, just an FYI, SF is not the city by the sea it was forever, it's been taken over by more and more street people and theft and I could say much more but it's not what it has always been known for.

And I'm hearing Oakland across the bay from SF is the highest street living in the world.

Yes, I know . I was going to add that in my post. That if I hadn't gone by now, I probably wouldn't for the reason you just posted.

Sad, they say it's worse there than here in LA! :(

I have used the word "hate" since my early grade-school years, having strongly associated it with "despising something really badly") and I'm not going to stop anytime soon. The people who won't allow you to use the word "hate" (especially the sentence "I hate you for real" when you're really meaning "to despise") are religious wackos who think you should like (or "love") everything and everyone, which I can't, and I'm not going to.
