from the episode about the tv commercial?
I saw this on the Waltons and wondered if there was some set borrowing going on.

Thanks for the tipoff.
Say, in the fictional world, either "Safe" didn't change their box design from the Depression era to the '70s, or Mike & Carol were dealing with some OLD detergent...! :)

It looks as though the producers of The Waltons went to the trouble of making sure the "Bio-Degradable" part was not visible, as it would've been inappropriate for that era.

Wow how cool ! Good find ! ;)
Did the Waltons have a washing machine? Maybe one of those old Wringer washers my Mom used to speak of. That would be lots of hand washing of clothing if they didn't have a washer for a family that size!

Those words or phrase would not really be used in advertising in the 1940s. I dont think anyone would know what that meant.
Trivia question: Anyone remember the brand the Brady's used prior to Safe?

Before Best they used Champ (the dirt fighter)
