Fans of the United States women's national team might be a tad confused by FOX's coverage of the 2023 World Cup.
Andrew Marchand of the New York Post called out FOX this Wednesday for saying coverage of the USWNT's second World Cup match starts at 7 p.m. ET. The reason he felt the need to call out FOX is because the actual match doesn't start until 9 p.m. ET.
"The U.S. women's game is on Wednesday. Kickoff is scheduled for 9 p.m. ET. FOX advertises during their broadcast that coverage starts at 7 p.m. No mention after that kickoff is at 9 p.m. C'mon. You guys got to do better than that," Marchand said (https://twitter.com/AndrewMarchand/status/1684313391685591047).
Marchand called FOX's two-hour gap in coverage a huge pet peeve for him.
While there's nothing wrong with pregame coverage of a World Cup match, there are probably many fans who share Marchand's sentiment.
After all, not every fan wants to wait until 9 p.m. ET to watch a sporting event - especially if they thought it would start two hours earlier.
