Today August 31st is a special day in music history as August 31st 1982 marks the debut of Madonna's self-titled debut album. And who can remember buying this album on record and cassette and being enchanted by Madonna's voice as she sang Holiday with such grace and little did we know that this album would be successful and launch Madonna into superstardom. The very first Madonna single in history was the song Everybody that made her a household name for years to come. And over the years Madonna's 1982 debut album has been remastered twice on CD making it one of the top Madonna albums ever made

My history with Madonna began when my mom found two Madonna cassettes of Like A Virgin and True Blue and my mother liked Madonna's singing a lot but I never had gotten Madonna's 1982 debut album and had always wanted it. Then as I got older I started collecting Madonna albums and singles and I thought they were cool. Did you have Madonna's debut album and what was your favorite song from it?

I don't get why you started this thread on August 1st and not August 31st. :confused: But, anyways, I remember a man saying something like,"When Madonna's Madonna Album was released in 1982, I thought,"This Madonna Chick isn't going to go anywhere. How glaringly wrong I was as she became one of the biggest Superstars of all time, and is still going strong DECADES later!" :D
