Ever since the animated movie The Swan Princess debuted in theaters in 1994 it became one of the most popular animated movies of the 90's and based on it's success Nest Entertainment started to create sequels to The Swan Princess with The Swan Princess II and later The Swan Princess III which was actually supposed to be the final movie in The Swan Princess movies they have completely constantly been making new movies of The Swan Princess ever since The Swan Princess movie series had been sold to Sony and now the movies are done with computer animation now and with movies such as The Swan Princess Christmas I cannot see how The Swan Princess series got revived with all new sequels and another thing is they constantly add new characters and give the new characters more screen time in these movies. Like in one of the sequels Princess Odette and Prince Derek adopt a young girl as their daughter named Alise and it seems that Alise is now the most popular character of The Swan Princess movies. I think why The Swan Princess series got revived is because they want to introduce a new generation of fans to the series. I remember being 9 years old when The Swan Princess movie came out and my grandfather had given me the Princess Odette doll for Christmas and I thought to myself "this might be worth checking out" and I begged my mother to rent me The Swan Princess on video but the drug store where Mom and I would rent movies from was out of the movie so I bought The Swan Princess and fell in love with the storyline and as a lover of animated movies and princess themed movies The Swan Princess was one movie I enjoyed during my childhood but I cannot believe how the series keeps growing and growing with sequels
