Are there any shows that were hugely popular and liked during their initial runs but nowadays, aren't looked back on fondly. This is mainly due to a change in societal norms or the actions of one involved with the show. Basically, shows that lost its initial praise over time.

Wasn't Family Ties a highly received sitcom? For whatever reason, it's faded from memory. You never here anyone mention the show anymore, as it never had any controversey or bad people.

Family Ties is highly associated with/tied to the 1980s. Although it can still be seen, any minimal popularity it has is probably due to Michael J. Fox.

Murphy Brown is the same story, topically associated with the late 1980s and the 1990s. Although the motivation in reviving it was obvious, it also was an obvious flop.

I can't think of any sitcom, just the TV show, Candid Camera. That was so huge back then, but no one seems to care for it anymore.
