In the beginning, there was only one after-school refuge for the cool and hip. It's name was the Lamp Light.

After a couple of years, people started chattering about a new spot in town that was even more happenin' than the Light--Sid's Pizza.

Eventually, Charles' mother, Lilian, decided to leave her home of New Brunswick so she could live closer to her "doodle-bug." In doing so, she bought Sid's Pizza Parlor and, after a couple of years, remodeled it into a swingin' 1950's themed diner called the Yesterday Cafe.

Now, my question is this: which hang-out was the best? I have to go with Sid's Pizza. Sid was a neat guy (who should've had more roles in the show) and the joint just looked like the type of place where you could relax, chill with your friends, eat great pizza, and pick up awesome dates! So, what do the rest of you think?

Well,

All three places were OK. I do have to agree with Nicole's Boy about Sid's, but seein the Lamp Light in the original run also made me feel that way too. I would prefer either of those two places to the Yesterday Cafe, but it also had its charm. It was a lot brighter in there, though.

By the way, did Sid's Pizza come out at all in the original shows? Or was it just a place that came about in the new shows. It was featured in the pilot of the 1987 show because that's where Buddy and Charles go to meet the two senior girls to get a recommendation for their apartment and they take Sarah along.

One other thing, those girls were all over them like syrup on pancakes, boy, it makes you wonder where those girls were when I was in college!!!!

The Lamp Light was used throughout the CBS show. Sid's Pizza came about with no explanation, which is typical of that Powell pilot episode! I liked all three hangouts, but Sid's Pizza just seemed to be the coolest.

And I've always said that life should be more like a sitcom. Nothing really bad ever happens to guys on TV, and they ALWAYS get the chicks!
