View Full Version : Lights out for Three's Company
Janice 09-03-2002, 10:32 AM Whenever I watch the finale of Three's Company, I have the same thought. At the very last shot of Jack, Janet and Terri leaving the apartment for the last time, Terri hits the light switch and closes the door.
I like Terri enough, but I think that Jack should have been the one closing the door and shutting the lights off--surely symbolic for 'lights out' for the show. I realize it was an ensemble cast, but Jack Tripper was really the center of the show.
When Cheers had its final moment, it was Sam Malone who closed up the bar and shut the lights off, and it felt right.
In my opinion, Jack should have been the last person seen or the trio should have been shown in a group shot.
Krisalicious 09-03-2002, 01:10 PM I think Jack should have turned out the lights too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Or, Jack, Janet, and Terri could have been looking at their apartment from the door, and one of them could have turned off the lights, but still had the other two next to them and they could have all left at the same time.
Crimson and Clover 09-03-2002, 04:29 PM i agree, jack should have been the one to turn off the lights and shut the door.

I agree, but I think it would be most logical if Jack shut the lights off. This is a little off the subject but, I think Chrissy should have been in the last episode along with Terri, Janet, and Jack, or at least a guest appearence would have been nice. But anyways, Jack shutting the lights does make sense.
Notorious 09-03-2002, 05:09 PM I think Janet should've turned out the lights, because she deserved to. *Terri hated the show, didn't wanna be on it anymore. *Jack was getting his very own show. It makes since for Janet to have that one (very little) moment.

I agree... even if Janet did it, it would have been a lot better than Terri, but I think it should have been Jack.
Will and Grace Fanatic 09-03-2002, 07:49 PM I think Janet or Jack should have turned out the lights. Since they were both there from the beginning of the series.
TelevisionQueen 09-04-2002, 08:43 PM I think Janet AND Jack should have turned out the lights together, or atleast maybe just janet, i mean, it seemed weird for it just to be a shot of terri, i mean, they could have atleast put all three of them in the doorway and then had one of them turn out the lights...i dunno...i mean, i think that since jack was getting his own show it was weird for him to do it...i really think that janet should have been jack's girlfriend in the spin-off...vicki didnt seem like jack's type at all...it always makes me cry when i see the last episodes! :(
